I started cozy gaming with the beloved Stardew Valley, so I can't help but compare them in my mind. Littlewood is a great game in its own right. It is quite easy to get into, the game play is simple but provides a bunch of options of what my character can do for the day. Overall, I can't wait to increase my play time and learn more about the Littlewood world!
Seemed a simple and straight forward game but very addicting which I guess is the inherent nature of these types of games. Completing quests, unlocking new stuffs and finding and making new things are so satisfying even if it tend to become repetitive over time but that was the fun of it. I also liked the simple graphics as everything seemed so cute. It was a shame that the dev abandoned the game after updating for a while and we have a few parts of the game that were left unfinished in the end. But overall it has enough playtime for me to enjoy a relaxing journey with this game.

Starts off kinda annoying, then becomes great, then becomes tedious. Skill/economy/drop balance is terrible, progression feels extremely stretched, and while there are A LOT of things to do, a lot of them boil down to huge amounts of tedium. There are quite a lot of neat features in the game (like the ability to customize the town you are managing to your liking), but not enough to warrant the unfathomable amount of stuff that Just Don't Work, especially in the world where Stardew Valley exists. Overall, the game is not bad unless you want to 100% it.
It's a bit like Stardew Valley lite, can't compete with the real one but still nice.
I love how you don't have to worry about time constraints in this game. The day only passes by when you perform action and is not real time, and even that restriction is lifted in late game. No more running frantically to finish daily chores!
Came back and got my last 2 achievements. Was great fun but it seems like it is no longer being maintained? Sad to see it, if you don't mind the simplistic art style, this is a great game with a good amount of customizations and gameplay overall.
I love this game. There is no combat! (aside from whacking trees with your axe) It's based after a huge battle where all the monsters disappeared and you have to help rebuild the town. I get lost in the game so easily, collecting items for crafting, talking to villagers, exploring the different areas. There is so much to do. Plus you can 100% customize the decor and layout of the town! As well as the interior designs of each house. Also, the pixel art is high quality, super adorable, and the soundtrack for this game is *chef's kiss* :) There is one song that plays at night time that I always have to turn up a little! It's such a vibe.
Low stakes and relaxing due to the lack of time pressure and combat. At the start there are consistently new mechanics, areas, and characters being introduced so it always feels like there is lots to do and discover and stays fresh. It was enjoyable to try to experiment such as with the recipes in the tavern, and it felt rewarding to level up and unlock new things just by playing the game without going out of your way to do specific things too much. However, late game once you've unlocked everything many of the goals are very grindy and serve no purpose other than getting the achievement. There are late game awards given for reaching max level in certain skills, but the reward for hitting max level was often that it makes doing that thing easier, but now that you've finished grinding to the max level, you don't really need to do it much any more. It would have been nice if the rewards to make those grindy tasks easier were given earlier in the progression, or at least the reward for one was related to a different one mega man style so that you just needed to grind it out on one task and then you'd be motivated to work on the next one with your new upgrade. Also, the resource management involved was completely removed by the end of the game in ways I think were negative for the gameplay. Early on it was exciting to unlock new recipes that could earn you more money which would help with other objectives. However, later in the game money became limitless and all the recipes earned the same amount of gold, so unlocking the last recipes was now meaningless, whereas before it was one of the better elements in the game. Overall I'd say it's a fun game that can be played while listening to podcasts or in bed before sleep if that's your thing, but it was a shame that the early game excitement petered out and just turned into "hit rocks 5,000 times to get an achievement", and I'd agree with others that it was a shame that you end up just sleeping repeatedly to either get to the right day of the week, or get to the right season to find a bug. It was at that point I ended up putting the game down.
Few hours of fun, but it got boring and feels really repetitive. It doesn't mean this game is bad, it's just not for me.
Littlewood is a fun little time waster that works perfectly on the Steam Deck. It’s a simple resource gathering and crafting game where you get resources, turn them into materials and build a village. There is no combat, time limit or any other type of stressful component. The more you advance in the story the more villagers will come to your village - all with their own demands and cute little story lines. Don’t expect much depth or some crazy writing out of this, but it is a very laid-back and chill experience that works both in small bursts or longer sessions. The main story can be completed in around 15 hours, but going for 100% completion and villager satisfaction will take a lot longer. The presentation is cute with its reduced and colorful pixel art style and relaxed music and sound effects. The best thing about this game is the fully terraformable village. You can not only place buildings, vegetation and decorations to your liking but also put streets, paths, mountains, rivers, ponds wherever you like without restrictions. Changing things up is easily achievable without wasting precious resources or materials. So, if you are a creative person, you can really dive deep into creating your ultimate fantasy town. Or just appreciate the many amazing creations in the Steam Community.
