This was a pretty okay game, difficult and punishing yes but once i got the hang of it (jumping almost nonstop to avoid most of traps), i wanted to keep playing it to completion. Would have been nice to be able to save more often than in one save room that you don't know the location of in labyrinth unless you use map (which i recommend for this game). It has lot of variety with different rooms you stumble upon but some of them were very confusing to figure out without a guide. Apparently amiga version is more improved so it's a shame this is the inferior dos version. It can be difficult to recommend unless you enjoy older games that are hard and doesn't do much handholding, having to figure stuff out by yourself.
A weird little relic. You play a clumsy devil crawling through mazes and minigames that make almost no sense until you just accept the chaos. Controls feel like they were designed for a joystick from another decade, because they were, and the humor is dumb in the best way. It's clunky, it's ugly in places, and it's absolutely charming. Not for everyone, but if you grew up on this kind of nonsense you'll grin the whole way through.
https://youtu.be/plItNCe3ewU Obviously a product of it's time, players are at the whim of heavy trial and error to learn what the game wants before even beginning to tackle how to do it.
Beautiful game, especially for its era. So Litil Divil is a mix of 3rd person maze navigation and challenge rooms. Maze navigation is fairly standard stuff, though it can be a little mean at times as most of the mazes require you collect nearly all of the treasures to reach the end. Also some of the obstacles I think rely on chance for you to proceed without taking a hit, a very player unfriendly approach to level design. Still the design is logical and easy enough to navigate and understand, so it would take some real bad luck to not be able to progress simply due to the RNG. The challenge rooms cover a wide mix of genres, often with their own unique controls. Rooms range from puzzles, platforming, battle, navigation, bull riding, and simple key item checks. That said, the quality of these rooms can vary greatly. Many of them are creative, but the low framerate and unclear controls/rules often make them frustrating. A few of them are also so janky it's a test of will to even want to clear them. Also note that save rooms are limited. You get one per maze and it often requires a lot of navigation to reach them. You do also get a checkpoint when you clear each world which can make a poorly timed death less frustrating, but even so the game is long enough that you may need to set aside at least 30 minutes to an hour a session to make progress. Game is a mixed bag overall, but I'll round up since I have a tolerance for some of these problems. Plus I do love its mix of dark fantasy aesthetics with looney tunes humor.
played a lil bit
Для своего времени эта игра отличная, но в наши дни играть в неё довольно сложно и неудобно. Покупать за деньги её точно не стоит.
