A Story-Driven Rhythm RPG About Deflecting Enemy Heartbeats
To save his bedridden mother, Hiano Kenji, a young man who gave up his dream of becoming a concert pianist, sets out with Lily, a mysterious vampire, in search of the universal remedy known as the "Golden Apple." This story-focused rhythm RPG naturally connects its premise of fighting enemies through music with a magical piano to VN-style conversations and rhythm battles. The core is a battle system in which you listen to the heartbeat rhythm an enemy plays just before attacking, then reproduce the same intervals to deflect the blow. Rather than falling from top to bottom like conventional charts, notes travel in from both sides, while the judgment line and playing position also move. The flow emphasizes memorizing an enemy's warning and preparing for the next strike instead of simply tracing a song, making the chart itself function as a boss attack pattern. The resulting play feel was quite enjoyable. Story Mode contains seven original tracks, with battles, conversations, and music presented as unified scenes. Speed lines covering the screen, chromatic distortion, shaking backgrounds, and large character cut-ins make the presentation highly flashy. The anime-style cast, including Lily, also looks appealing, while confrontations with werewolves, knights, and demon-lord-like foes give each track a different stage. Free Play offers 20 songs selected from around the world, ranging from electronic music to Artcore. Each track has multiple difficulty levels, and players can pursue higher scores and new records. Lily Power earned through performances also unlocks additional stories, leaving a reason to replay songs even after finishing the narrative. It does not simply end once the songs are cleared; the routes back to both story content and score chasing remain intact. However, it would be risky to assume that the cute presentation and the promise of beginner-friendly difficulties make this a completely casual rhythm game. Later sections demand rapid inputs and memory for consecutive patterns, while the lateral notes and moving judgment positions also require adjustment. The story itself is relatively short, and the track list is not as extensive as that of a large-scale rhythm game. Players who place the highest priority on song count for the price or on a story with the scale of a lengthy RPG may find it somewhat expensive. At the same time, the unusual chart gimmicks, combat built around reading enemy heartbeats, and integrated anime-fantasy narrative give it a strong sense of individuality. It is easy to recommend to players who value the staging and challenge of each song over raw track count, those seeking a rhythm game with a story, and those who enjoy raising the difficulty and practicing repeatedly. Rather than expecting equipment collection or character growth from the RPG label, it is more accurate to view it as a fusion of a VN and a boss-battle rhythm game. HHF-chan's comment: "Deflecting enemy heartbeats with Lily and a magical piano is so flashy and intense!"
Check out our Steam curator (link) , YouTube channel (link), and X(Twitter) (link)!

Lily! Lily!」

A pleasantly playful rhythm game. It has a not-too-long (3-4h) visual novel story intertwined with unique charts, as well as 21 more tracks (on release). Decent amount of content, and everything feels responsive and polished. The story mode is, surprisingly enough, the highlight of it. The story is a tad whimsical but enjoyable, and despite frequent jokes it still manages to get a good message across. But most importantly, each of the charts you face as part of the campaign introduces new mechanics that make things harder and funkier. While not always something massive (e.g. might just be introducing hold notes to previously added deflect notes) it was always fitting and enjoyable. Good stuff. On the other hand is the practice room, where most of the rhythm action is happening. The songs here are comparatively tame, and most of them are easier than most of the story songs which is... a bit of a shame? The main difficulty of this game isn't about mechanical execution of complex patterns, but about your ability to read them as the notes don't come in pre-assigned lanes so you have to do some mental gymnastics about what button gets pressed when. If you memorize the track the actual inputs are basically trills, and rarely do they get ultra fast. I understand the direction and have enjoyed all the tracks, especially when they make the playfield jump around all dance-like, but there is a lot of room with mechanics from the story mode that could get implemented into these tracks as an extra "Fantasia" difficulty or whatnot. Maybe some post-launch update. Ultimately I absolutely recommend this game as long as you're not too hardy of a completionist, as the achievements require both a ton of skill and a ton of grind. Though I suppose the first might come from the latter.
PROS Amazing aesthetics, with clean animations, UI and 2-key lane design. Song selection is adequate for a newly released rhythm game (about 20 songs) with varying genres that try to stick to the piano theme. Customisable keybinds and some minor gameplay customisation. The gimmick is deflecting boss attacks by matching the beat shown to you before the sequence begins in a type of QTE event while playing through a song. The story is fine. CONS Can be visual novel heavy at times, so be aware because it's part of the progression and unlock system. Boss battles are only really part of the main story and not part of the arcade/freeplay mode, which is mostly easier and more normal charts. Calibration is manual, so there's a lot of trial and error to set it up, but even when it's set, it feels a little off when playing quick, successive notes and deflecting attacks despite the generous judgement windows. The visuals are aggressive, with a lot of motion, which is the norm and perfectly fine in rhythm games, but not the way it's done here. Having your focal point in motion, while notes are also moving along, trying to obscure upcoming notes, hurts the experience. It looks cool and is synced well to each song, but left me feeling nauseous. Other games in the genre also use such visuals, but your focal point is not constantly in motion, with most visual clutter being short, on the periphery or having options to tone it down a bit. No such options exist for this, other than background options. This is the main reason I refunded. Try out the demo and see if it clicks. I really wanted to like it, but the lack of customisation for the motion hurts the experience for me. If options are added, I would try it again. Not a bad game at all, and a fun experience that just wasn’t for me.
This game is revolving around piano so it's already a 10/10 in my opinion It has quite a good songlist albeit small and a great story to follow with extraordinary effects to accompany the songs Also, I like Lily :)
Interesting gameplay and gimmicks! The story mode is pretty unique and challenging Good collection of songs for the free play as well If you like rhythm games, you should like this especially with the story mode gameplay
