Hell yes. Not quite like the first two games but thats the whole damn point. Love Alex, her backstory is so compelling and complex, LIS loves sad backstories but none of them ever feel like a ripoff from the others, I love that. Steph is back, more lesbian than ever, I love that they added her into a sort of spin off game, we get to see more of her and learn about her life after arcadia bay in the DLC. Ryan, just Ryan, that is my man right there. 10/10. I cried during the last hour of the game.
5/10 Conditional recommendation Pros: -Works great on Steamdeck. No issues whatsoever. -Gorgeous graphics. -The gameplay is very straightforward and provides little barrier to entry. -The plot has some satisfying moments. -There’s some replayability, if you’re interested enough to go back and play again. Cons: -The gameplay provides little challenges at all. This isn’t a video game, but more of an interactive story. -While there is replayability, I really don’t feel compelled to go back and see how to other choices turn out, especially as it doesn’t really change the ending. -I found myself annoyed with how some of the characters were reacting to the events of the game. I understand this is a work of fiction with magic powers, but for an exploration of grief and emotions, this misses the mark. -If you miss a few small details, the game has plot-holes. But also, the game holds your hand in other spots and takes away your critical thinking in progressing the plot. There is no happy medium. In Summary: Every dollar you spend on a game should be at least 1 hour of entertainment. I would really only recommend getting this game if it was on sale. Otherwise I don’t think it’s worth it. I know I won’t be playing it again.
Life is Strange: True Colors
Dropped · 3 of 5 episodes · ~7 hours

Not Recommended — the best mechanics in the series wrapped around the least amount of game.

Summary
A narrative adventure following Alex Chen, a young woman with empathy powers, investigating her brother's death in a small mountain town. Mechanically the most creative entry in the series. Everything surrounding those mechanics is the weakest the franchise has produced outside of Before the Storm.

Pros

The empathy mechanic is genuinely the best power in the series. Reading emotions, reconstructing memories, and entering people's minds as their feelings reshape the environment around you — it's inventive and consistently well executed.
The LARP section in episode 3 is the single best moment in the franchise. A town-wide fantasy adventure for a grieving kid that turns into a full Final Fantasy style battle sequence complete with health bars, UI sounds, and move animations. Nothing else in the series comes close.
Ryan is the most likeable companion the series has produced. Considerate, emotionally grounded, and written like an actual person rather than a plot device.
Gorgeous art direction. The town is almost unrealistically beautiful but it's undeniably eye catching and gives the game a distinct identity.
Best facial animation and voice acting in the series so far. The performances do a lot of heavy lifting when the writing can't.

Cons

Barely a choose your own adventure. Choices are largely cosmetic with almost no ripple effects between episodes. The results screen tracks whether you sat in a chair or listened to music. For a series built on consequence this is a fundamental failure.
No plot. Three episodes in and the story amounts to: evil corporation killed your brother. That's it. The murder mystery framing from episode 2 wraps up within the same episode with the most obvious answer possible.
Single location for the entire game. A short game with nowhere new to go removes any sense of momentum or discovery.
Inconsistent rules for its own mechanic. Episode 1 establishes that Alex can't read emotions on demand — episode 3 quietly drops this with no explanation.
Doesn't feel like Life is Strange. The name carries expectations around choice, consequence, and emotional weight. This delivers on almost none of them. A different IP built around the same mechanics could have been something genuinely memorable. Under this title it just invites a comparison it can't win.

Final Notes
Dropped after 3 of 5 episodes at around 7 hours. A choose your own adventure game should not require four episodes to get going — if it hasn't earned your engagement by the halfway point it hasn't earned a recommendation. Wait for a deep sale if the empathy mechanic sounds interesting to you, but go in knowing this is a different game wearing a familiar name. Not Recommended.
Супер атмосферная, куча мелких деталей, освещение, интересный сюжет, прикольная способность у гг
Life is Strange: True Colors had me hooked with its story, beautiful characters, and the ability to literally feel everyone else's emotions. Unfortunately, nobody warned me that the game would also make *me* feel emotional damage. I was happily settling into the town, getting attached to the characters, and thinking, "Wow, Gabe is awesome. I can't wait to spend the whole game hanging out with him." The game responded with: **"No."** They really killed my boy Gabe in Chapter 1. Chapter. **One.** I spent more time customizing my expectations than I did actually knowing the guy. Despite my heartbreak, the story was fantastic, the choices felt meaningful, and the characters were easy to care about. The soundtrack was great, the setting was cozy, and the emotional moments hit harder than a falling rock in a mining accident. 10/10 game. 0/10 survival rate for my favorite character.

Life is Strange: True Colors is a game I really wanted to like. I expected something closer to Life is Strange 1 or 2 in terms of story, but sadly, it ended up being a pretty big disappointment for me. The game is extremely slow. The dialogue is not badly written on its own, but everyone reacts and talks so slowly that it almost feels like watching real life at 0.5x speed. It also feels very anticlimactic. In the first three episodes, barely anything happens in the main story outside of a few moments, and the game keeps pulling you into filler subplots instead. Some of them were interesting, but others really did nothing for me, and episode 3 especially felt like one huge filler section. The worst part is that every time I wanted the main story to finally move forward, the game kept getting in its own way. Right when episode 4 was ending and it felt like things were finally about to kick off, episode 5 suddenly throws you into flashbacks and takes you somewhere completely different. That section takes up what feels like most of the final episode, and by that point I had already lost most of my interest. I just wanted it to end. The superpower also feels underused. It does not really add much mechanically, which is a shame because that should have been one of the most interesting parts of the game. The graphics are nice, the voice acting is good, and the rest is pretty much classic Life is Strange. Sadly, the most important part, the story, is where the game really struggles. 5/10 - A bit average and forgettable.
