lovely game :) so sad but so beautiful and i loved wavelengths too <3 really nice to see the connections to the previous games as well! always cool when whatever ending you got in the first game is tied in to the story
Only two complaints with the main game: (1) I stumbled upon a very irritating bug where it didn't register I've actually completed the game & so wouldn't let me play Steph's Story without completing the game again in a new save slot. (2) There are a few major choices (won't say which to avoid spoilers) in which there is very clearly only one "correct" option from a gameplay POV. The other option just shafts you entirely & is clearly "wrong". I would not care if this was the case for smaller decisions, but these are the big game-altering ones, and you expect those to have pros and cons to both choices to make it interesting to replay. Besides that, pretty amazing all-round. Story & characters are fantastic, and I enjoyed the little twist in the ending. The setting is also absolutely gorgeous. Steph's Story was just OK. I felt it wasted a lot of potential by not having more interactions with the rest of the Haven Point cast. We don't need to have in-depth interactions with everyone, but this was a chance to deepen the world a bit more by seeing this place from another set of eyes (bit like how we see Arcadia Bay through both Max & Chloe's POVs in their respective games). Plus it was a great chance to get to spend a bit more time with Gabe - this was a chance to really drive home how loved he was by the Haven Point community, and to add more weight behind Steph's tears at his death in the main game. Still, not a terrible game. Some aspects were fun.
Life is Strange: True Colors is an absolute masterpiece. I want to break this review down into parts for better readability, as it's a bit complex because of my background with the Life is Strange franchise and my personal feelings towards this game and its community. 1. Emotional Depth over Shock Value Unlike LiS 1 (world-ending storms) or LiS 2 (high-stakes cross-country police chases), True Colors keeps the story personal. Exposing a corrupt mining company in a small town feels real and intimate; True Colors chooses to be a mature, grounded character study. This works because it trades cheap edge and shock value for emotional maturity. The grief, anger, and healing feel real, not manufactured. 2. Empathy as the Series' Best Mechanic Critics called Alex’s empathy power "passive," but it’s actually the most mature power in the franchise. It replaces chaotic action mechanics with deep character exploration. The power forces you to actually listen, observe, and understand the grief of the people around you, making the town of Haven Springs feel alive. Because of that, I could sympathize with a lot of the characters. Gabe, for example, reminded me a lot of my own brother; when he died in the story, it left me completely shattered. Life is Strange is, at its core, a franchise about human connection. A power based entirely on understanding other people's deepest, hidden emotions fits the thematic soul of the series far better than throwing cars with your mind. 3. Quality and Atmosphere Over Map Size The "$60 for one street" complaint is a shallow way to judge art. Haven Springs is small, but it is dense, incredibly detailed, and feels like a lively community. The cozy aesthetic, the stellar soundtrack, and the intimate setting capture the exact magic of the original Life is Strange. It’s a tight, highly polished 10-hour masterpiece. 4. A Grounded, Believable Plot Life is Strange 2 suffered from massive logic gaps and frustrating, unlikable characters (at least for me). True Colors keeps the stakes personal. Exposing a corrupt mining company and dealing with a town's buried secrets is a tight, believable mystery where your choices actually dictate how the community views and supports you. Conclusion In conclusion, it is by far a more mature and better-developed story. It is almost completely detached from the other games, and honestly, they absolutely nailed it. I absolutely recommend it.
Asian backstory hits close to home, big plot twist and loved the ending. Alex's ability is unique and i love the mini games! 9/10!
too expensive. lack of content. Spent only 13 hours to the end of this game. Disappointed after I played Life strange 1 and 2. I don't recommend this version of game to anyone.
screw that piece of ♥♥♥♥ named mac EDIT: ♥♥♥♥ TYPHON
