About
The ocean is dying. Coral reefs are vanishing and ecosystems are breaking down. By the power of the mysterious reef heart you must restore balance, using the ocean floor itself as the foundation to build vibrant havens for sealife. Craft lures to entice different species to your reef and use their natural abilities to overcome underwater hazards. Experience Thalassa’s journey in campaign mode, then undergo new challenges in freeplay.
Advised by marine biologists and shaped with authentic underwater audio, Life below introduces realism into its world of fantasy. Gameplay reflects natural rhythms and interactions, bringing the ocean floor to life with motion, color, and possibility.
In a twist on the city-building genre, resurrect entire ecosystems by strategically crafting and managing vibrant coral reefs to restore life to the deep. This will take a combination of energy-channeling coral, resource generating seashells, and much more to ensure the ocean’s floor not only survives, but truly thrives.
Experience a charming campaign over a series of hand crafted animations, guided by a heartfelt story written by award-winning video games writer Rhianna Pratchett. Appointed by Gaia, Thalassa must restore life to the reef. Become the ocean guardian, revive long-gone habitats, overcome oceanic instability and increase biodiversity.
With the perfect environment formed, you can lure over 40 different wildlife species from coral crabs and monkfish to distinctive hammerhead sharks. Admire your new school of fish close-up or watch over your entire colony, using a powerful new camera system. Under the reef heart’s watchful gaze, create and nurture your own sub-aquatic haven. However, housing them is only the start. To keep the underwater ecosystem thriving, you must cater to their needs and protect them from external threats.
From shifting biomes to outside influence, Life Below presents a range of challenges to navigate. Algae levels, PH balance and an infestation of lionfish aren’t the only challenges you’ll have to solve. More serious threats such as oil spills and garbage patches will call for creative strategies, requiring the help of special wildlife to overcome.
Every zone of the ocean floor will bring its own set of challenges. Temperature and acidity fluctuations along with a naturally limited area are only a few of the problems you’ll need to adapt to. Only by strategically adapting your playstyle to each environment can you efficiently expand your territory to restore the entire reef to its former glory.

absolute nice game, dont know why its rated unter 80% runs really smooth, no gamebreaking bugs, no crashes got some minor bugs with achievements this game is also very suitable for childrens again a worthy investment
This game is so beautiful and serene. I played the cozy version, as there are 3 modes you can choose from - it is the perfect game for unwinding after a stressful day. The soundtrack is lovely, the graphics and characters are lovely, and I like that as you progress there are challenges in the balanced or challenging modes. I didn't experience bugs or problems at all, and for a new game that is so incredibly rare. TL;DR: Well done, enjoyable, and lovely.
This game is super cozy and who doesn't like rebuilding reefs to make them teeming and full of life. The visuals are great and it is amazing to see you go from a barren landscape to one full of flora and fauna. It's a new take on a city builder and I thoroughly enjoy it.
Solid game, rather fun. It's basically a game of balance-the-meters. Every building increases or decreases the meter for energy, pH, and/or water temperature, and your goal is to keep those in balance while increasing biodiversity by attracting fish (which then need food, and both the fish and the food buildings further affect those meters). Could use some TLC and adjustment to mechanics, though. There are a number of areas in the game that either should have tooltips added, or the tooltips made more useful/descriptive, and we really need more details on limits and such. I've yet to find a way to see what the "overcrowding" limit is, so I just have to sorta cram fish into the zone until I reach it. There are a number of icons that aren't explained anywhere, even in the game guide book's "Icon" section, and clicking on the affected buildings only sometimes displays what they mean. There's no real indicator for how much you need to build to improve a zone's "development", and as far as I can tell, it's just the percentage of available building tiles that are occupied, since the same building can alter the development of different zones by wildly different amounts. The zone system itself is also a bit odd. Zones are literally right next to each other, and you run a continuous power network between them, but magically from one tile to the immediately adjacent tile in the next zone, the water temp and pH change dramatically. The lore about fish not wanting to swim too far for food or housing is fine, but the zone system on temperature and pH breaks immersion, imo. Some of the balance feels off, too. The game actively encourages you to build a bunch of extra algae production, though I've yet to understand why, since extra algae production provides zero benefit except some resilience against events, and if you get too much extra, the game punishes you with an algae bloom. The initial power buildings, Moon Coral, feel like they need to generate like twice as much energy as they do, given their cost and footprint. You basically spam Moon Corals at the start, it's absurd. Still, overall, an amusingly whimsical take on your standard city builder.
very beautiful and charming city-builder, very bluey love the calm ocean vibe and pretty music
