About
Lexicon is a 2D single-player puzzle adventure game where you escape back to reality by ascending the six layers of Limbo (called Ekkos in Early Access), uncovering its secrets, overcoming its challenges, and discovering the truth of who you really are.
Unlock ancient words and supernatural abilities that allow you to manipulate time and space and the forces of nature.
Ancient Words
Speak the long-lost language of Indus to command fire, earth, air, and water and traverse Limbo's layers.
Supernatural Abilities
Bend time and space with your mysterious powers in order to overcome seemingly impossible challenges.
As you explore Limbo, find fragments of your memory that reveal crucial moments leading up to the events of Lexicon. Experience these memories and discover the man behind the bird.

From the secret tombs of the Ossuary to the soaring spires of the Aviary, each layer of Limbo presents unique puzzles and hidden lore for those brave enough to explore.

Known as the graveyard of Limbo, the Ossuary is where beings traditionally lay their loved ones to rest. Tombs and gravestones sprawl across its surface, tended by locals who maintain the burial grounds. Beneath the earth lies a vast network of tombs, holding countless bodies and the buried secrets of their pasts.

The Foundry stretches for hundreds of miles, dominated by a massive factory built over a sea of molten lava. Within its walls, locals toil day and night, tending machinery and producing much of Limbo's industrial goods. At the core of the factory beats the Machine Heart, driving production and enforcing the relentless rhythm of the layer.

The Colliery sits at the base of a towering mountain, home to Limbo's largest repository of coal. Wooden buildings line the town's streets, leading to mines carved into the mountain's rocky base, where hidden secrets and monsters await further within.

The Sanctuary is a realm of beauty and reverence, graced by houses of worship and tranquil gardens. Its inhabitants faithfully uphold the rituals and traditions of the past, often without understanding their original meaning, as the truth that once defined them was buried long ago.

The Estuary is a swampland divided by a great river that cuts through the region, emptying into a vast body of water at the edge of Limbo. Along its banks, two rival tribes remain locked in conflict, each believing the other must answer for sins of the past.

Crowned with towering spires and lavish architecture, the Aviary floats atop the clouds. It is home to Limbo's wealthy elite, whose appearance resembles the birds of our world. Though they possess everything they could desire, it is never enough to satisfy their craving for more.

I really love how lore heavy this game is, it makes exploration feel genuinely rewarding since you get to learn more about the world, its history and the characters that reside in it. The puzzles were pretty fun too, they do get difficult but that's part of the fun. Definitely excited to see more from this game!
For an early access game, I would say that for less than $5 it's pretty worth it to see what becomes of this game. While the gameplay is rather simple, I had fun playing around with some of the abilities you gain. The puzzles can also range from fun and easy to difficult, but satisfying to solve. I'm excited to see how this game continues to improve and hope to see more in the future.
I enjoyed the writing, and the mysterious almost mystical / quasi-religious tone. The character designs are abstract and fun, I'm partial to the Ipod nano dudes myself. Overall I'd give it 4 out of 5 flipped levers, maybe almost too much text to read for A.D.D. brains like myself, but most is optional.
after playing for a little over an hour this game is really fun! the puzzles do challenge you but they are not to hard to solve. i also like the fire ball mechanics and being able to slow down time. overall this game pretty good.
For early access, this game is amazing! It perfectly captures that early 2000s flash game style but with a fun puzzle solving mechanic. The art style is absolutely charming and the overall movement is crisp. Excellent world-building with TONS of lore and readable objects. I'm not the best with top-down spatial awareness, so I did get lost a couple times even while reading the direction signs, so maybe a world map with points of interest marked might help. To say I'm excited to see where the rest of this game goes is an understatement, I can't wait for the next areas and the rest of the story! May Nonbeing inflame your soul!
Cool vibe, fun and challenging puzzles, and good soundtrack!
Puzzles are fun and challenging. Music and atmosphere are great. Unique game from a small studio, excited to see what updates they provide.
A solid heart felt game with a lot of lore, collectibles, intricate characters (My favorite is Buck) and artsy world design. I cant wait for more story and new areas.
This game is really fun! There is alot of interesting lore to read! And The characters are very quirky and fun!
I really love Lexicon's puzzles, lore, music, and art. But the thing that sticks out to me is the large amount of quality character dialogue. Although many AAA games have lots of character dialogue, many times it tends to be filler. Lexicon's dialogue reminds me of when I used to repeatedly click on StarCraft unit portraits to hear their hidden lines. In Lexicon, most characters have about 2 or 3 conversations in them, but some of the special characters have even more conversations that reveal more about the world. It's kind of like the real world where you have to talk to someone to get to know them. Looking forward to when the game is fully done!
