This is an Otome game with well-praised CGs and fappable storyline. Knight Adelaide, as the captain of her Order, was cast mysterious spells by a magician when she was on a mission. And because of this, how would unspeakable events happen to her?

::SIGH:: The thing that disappoints me the most about Les Fleursword (and I'm just now thinking about that title, and it's making me sigh even louder), is that I really enjoyed the fact that it's an RPGMaker Otome VN. Watching the cute little sprites move about was a welcome change from the normal "picture book" visual novel format. It's something different, and I appreciate that. I admit the CGs and hand drawn character sprites are gorgeous, but everything else about it is so bad that what little enjoyment I found within was completely wiped out by some of the worst machine translation I've come across yet. Make no mistake, however, even with a decently cleaned up script the story wouldn't have fared much better. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1195689421 Considering I had to piece together the plot via severely broken English, some of which is so garbled that I'm unsure if anyone but the author herself would be able to discern what the hell is trying to be conveyed, this story synopsis may have a few errors. My apologies. Our tale begins in the Kingdom of Fordkilia, where our knightly heroine, Adelaide Devondell, resides. It appears that the common folk have no idea she's a woman, and all refer to her as their Lord, which isn't adequately explained until later in the story, but I digress. She is quickly sent off on a mission by her father, the commander of the kingdom's knights, to investigate a strange merchant selling drugs in a nearby village. There she discovers the merchant to be a sorcerer who promptly curses her before being captured and dragged off to prison. Upon interrogation, Adelaide learns that the curse is fatal and that she'll die if the sorcerer, Marlowe, doesn't provide her with the cure. Spoiler Warning! I'm going to ruin the end for you guys:
The rest of the story is basically her being sick and the other guys trying to find the ingredients to the potion while she's laid up on her death bed. Once said cure is obtained and administered, the two characters screw and live happily ever after.
So yeah... Now I understand that this is basically hentai, I get it; and I wasn't expecting much going in, but if you're going to write a full visual novel building up to a single H scene (which, by the way, is so horribly translated that it'd pass off as comedy more than anything else), you have to at least give me a more interesting story to get us there. I realize some of the charm may be lost in the machine-translation, but it takes maybe 2 hours to complete the first route, and there was absolutely nothing there to hook me other than the promise of some smut. And let me tell you, there's MUCH better smut out there than this. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1318243076 Honestly, I'm not even sure why I gave this review as much consideration as I did, there's really not much here to critique. Les Fleursword is bad. Even the pretty artwork isn't worth having to force your way through the painful story that's barely understandable at the best of times. I know the price is super cheap and it has achievements, but your time is worth more than this. A LOT more. Before anything let me disclose that this game is a VISUAL NOVEL. I have to mention it here because the 'Visual Novel' tag seems to be missing on the store page. Also, I strongly suggest for people to get the uncensored patch here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k9fubr3vdd3va92/patch.rar?dl=0 Now on to the review. Because the game seems to have been made through RPG Maker (and the missing Visual Novel Tag), one would think this would be a similar game to Dark Elf, Violated Heroine or The Heiress etc. Maybe not as raunchy or pervy, but at least similar in gameplay. Well, no... this is far from those two titles as the only gameplay this game gives you is the ability to decide and make a choice on whom you want get boned by. The only time you get to control your character is when it lets you walk around a closed space in the end of the game, in a hub where you can view the CGs! This is 100 percent just a visual novel! You don't get to choose quests, you don't get to meet a variety NPCs that you might or might not want to get boned by, and you don't get to fight monsters that you might or might not want to purposely lose against to get very intimate with. You just click on with your mouse, reading through the story, until the time for you to make a choice on which one fancies you the most: the whimp, the tsundere or the psychopath. I personally recommend the tsundere. Let's talk about the translation, it works but it's garbage. I can't be dishonest, tho I like the game, the translation is garbage. For a story driven game having translation as bad as this is just not good. It's not a long game, I criticize the use of machine level translations for something only this level! Would it cost the developers a fortune to hire someone actually just a little competent to translate something this short? Come on... that's just lazy and stingy. So, if the gameplay is bland (i would dare say nonexistent) then the plot is your go to factor on whether to buy this game or not. I'm happy to say that I liked the plot. You're a beautiful knight, the pride of your kingdom, graduated with the top marks from your chivalry school and that earns you the hearts of all the people you walk into. Then you stumble upon a conflict about a magician bearing a grudge against your kingdom which nearly haunted them down to extinction. He puts a curse on you and that's really where the story begins. Before reading forward let me just say that for its price despite the flaws I recommend this game so you can stop reading now because there are some spoilers after this line. You okay with spoilers then? Good. So when I played this game and reached this point I was thinking "Ah this is where i fight for my life and for love and struggle against the curse!" In which the game said: "Ahahahaha... NO! You stay in bed little girl! How dare you try to do something significant! Here are straws with the names of two guys, choose well because the one you pick will shove his manliness inside you at the end of this whole escapade." And so I did, I chose the tsundere one and after he cured me OFFSCREEN, he suddenly decided that as a reward he had to bang my character. Me: Fair enough, he probably had to fight demons OFFSCREEN just to cure me, he deserves it. Him: i bought the flower for the cureee doiiii Me: well okay then, I can't wait for this arc to be over so I can finally do something interesting.... Game: The End. ... No seriously, it just ends! It ended after 2 consecutive cgs! I managed to only get to view 2 pics I could've drawn myself after thirty minutes of this game! That's my main problem with this game, it's too short! I was just beginning to get interested! Why not explore the plot of magic's vengeance against those that persecuted it and make more content?! In the end i wasn't very satisfied, but by being so cheap I think this game earned the right to exist. I just wish there was more. I mean, I didn't expect the game to end just after my character lost her virginity! I wanted to explore the kingdom! I wanted to explore beyond the boundaries of the kingdom where the magicians escaped to! I wanted more of the world where my androgenous character was born! Instead a guy just explored me and it ends! So overall, if you want to experience a very very very short visual novel that offers very very very little decision making, i personally believe that it's just the right price. So if you're willing to shed some spare change, please do try it.
Review and blog update with accompanying screenshots and videos in Sinical Network
https://www.sinicalanimenetwork.com/post/les-fleursword-review-and-blog-update Les Fleursword is an adult otome visual novel featuring romance and fantasy set in a medieval Western period. The game runs on RPG Maker assets by MagicHouse that features a female knight captain Adelaide Devondell who was inspired by her father's heroic deeds when she was young. Hence, she followed in her father's footsteps by training hard to become a knight captain. Her childhood friend Yufia Langerton was jealous of Adelaide's combat prowess, rank, and status among the knights. Adelaide was the only woman to have surpassed him at their knight academy, and the two have been exchanging snide remarks whenever they meet, although he also secretly cared for her safety and well-being. One day, her father tasked Adelaide and her devoted squad member, Phil Cross, to investigate a merchant. The trader, Marlowe, revealed himself as a magician and cast a curse on Adelaide that could eventually kill her as part of an ongoing feud between knights and magicians. The story follows Adelaide as she grapples with her curse, and develops a special relationship with a junior knight, a knight captain or a magician who try to save her from death. When Les Fleursword was localized and published in Steam by SakuraGame (later renamed to Paradise Project) back in 2017, the game received mixed reviews and numerous complaints of the poor English translation, adult content, and alleged bad practices by the publisher. Despite all these, quite a number of visual novel fans played through the game and felt the game had the potential to be a decent visual novel, provided the English translation was improved. Agreeably, the game has excellent artwork in the character sprites and CGs, and is accompanied by a good theme song Minazoko ni shizumu hikari which may have influenced players and the Steam community to pin their hopes on the publisher to improve on the English translation as more players purchased the game showing their interest. I grabbed the game when it was selling at around a dollar, played through the Chinese version, wrote a recommended review of it with the same hopes as the Steam community, and the wish that the game would qualify for Steam trading cards in future. Sadly, we did not see any improvement in the English translation even though many fans wished this to happen. In 2020, after I worked on the English subtitles for another RPG Maker-based game by SakuraGame, Tales of the Black Forest, the publisher gave me permission to edit any of their RPG Maker-based games. Cleared of this major hurdle, I began to look at several of MagicHouse's titles that I recommended previously, and decided to work on Les Fleursword as a fan translation in my free time based off my own opinions and community feedback. In March 2021, Les Fleursword was removed from Steam with a short notification that it was done on request by the publisher after a discussion with the developer. In spite of this, I pressed on with the fan translation, and finally finished it two months later. As the game has a Western fantasy setting, the story in English after the retranslation looks even better than the last time I played the Chinese version. We hope that players who bought this game earlier with hopes for an improved English translation could take another look at this game with the retranslation patch, or consider buying the Japanese version from Japanese adult game webstores. The subtitles in both versions can be converted by installing a set of files that are available for download with installation instructions in my published Steam community guide, or at the Sinical Network translation page. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2492562067 Lastly, I would like to thank SakuraGame/Paradise Project for bringing this visual novel to Steam for three years, and for giving me the permission to start on this project. I would also like to thank my friends in Steam, and the Steam community for encouraging me to work on this project, and for helping out with parts of the translation. We hope you will enjoy this otome visual novel as much as I do. It was a pleasure to work on this project and seeing this game come out for the better. The English translation is pretty bad. I just started and the translation keeps making me laugh. But the sentences are still understandable so I'm fine with it. :) Edit: The longer I play it the worse the translation gets (or maybe I'm just getting more irritated lol). And lots of typos too. No proof-readers I guess.
Sadly, this is NOT a good game. At all. It is a pity it had both cute sprites and pictures, cause they seem terribly out of place in this short, shallow game without any substance. It almost seems like everything about this is just excuse to show few sexy pics, but oh man; you can easily find better smut elsewhere. So why that bad? First, translation - its bad, and makes you constantly wonder what author had in mind. So at some point you just skip through it. Especially because of second problem - the story. It starts slow, has one major plot point that comes out of nowhere and
renders the main heroine useless, then one of the guys resolves it by himself behind the scenes just to get his way with her as a reward
. The end. Frankly, its even a bit insulting how obviously whole plot is just excuse to show some (badly translated) sex. This is not worth buying and reading through, honestly.
First game I ever refunded on Steam. If you can read Japanese somehow, I recommend getting the DLSite version instead of playing this. I'm pretty sure google translate can tell a better story than whatever is written in here. I would not recommend supporting this product because of it's extremely terrible translation that detracts from the quality and vision of the developer for the game for what seems to be for the sake of mad cash $$$. Quite frankly it feels insulting. Warning NSFW - https://www.lewdgamer.com/2017/10/27/lewdgamer-expose-sakuragame/ New Glass Dev - https://www.oneangrygamer.net/2017/10/new-glass-dev-claims-sakuragame-attempting-sell-game-without-permission/42981/ Pros: - Gorgeous sprite art and CGs (except the action ones). - Interesting premise. Cons: - It is a Visual Novel using RPG Maker assets to tell the story. I honestly don't mind this presentation but it makes me wonder what's the point of having some bust shots present in some scenes when the expression change is on the faceset and character sets instead? - And because of the point above, the translation is unforgivable. - The fight scenes in this game is quite frankly, awful. - The mapping for this game is just too empty and boring. It really detracts from the what immersion on the setting you could have. - The scene transitions could be a lot faster. Game Summary (minor spoilers): - From what I can tell from the poor translation, long time ago, there were three wizards that used to own the land(?) and had been exiled because of abusing their powers. It is later revealed they did this because of the invading knights(?). The prince(ss) was given a mission that seemed important and got cursed by one of these wizards. The said curse causes the victim to be physically drained and die eventually. This is where I stopped because I didn't understand 95% of the dialogue. And that's it. I didn't even play long enough because I'm worried I won't be able to refund this despite the "cheap" price. I just got curious about this game and met with disappointment.
I am so confused after playing this game. I tried liking this game, I really did. So, I'm going to try my best to explain in detail why I'm giving it the thumbs-down. Oh boy, here we go. First of all, the story is actually pretty interesting and somewhat enjoyable beyond the sea of bad translations. I also found all 3 guys really likeable. Marlowe being the mysterious criminal, Phil being a loving sweetheart and Youfia being an absolute Tsundere. There was something about this game I actually liked, and that kept me reading until the end. However, there was this one THING that I HATED.SO.DAMN.MUCH, and I haven't stumbled across any reviews discussing this yet, but at some point of the story, (and I mean, most of the story) literally ALL "spoken" dialogue ends in a question mark. Now, you might think that's not such a big deal, but really? Here's an example. [NOT a real quote from the story nor related] "Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to go outside?" "No?" "Okay!?" "Hey, that guy is pretty creepy?" "Yeah, we shouldn't go near him?" "Oh no! He's attacking me!?" "Ahhh you're dead!?" "Oh no, you really died!!?" Now that you read my example, you should have realised that you, too, have a thing where you read it in your head as a damn question even if you know it isn't one, but that question mark really just made me want to throw my computer out the window. It really made me think, how on Earth did they mess THAT up and how did none of the writers/translators pick-up on the never-ending questionnaire? There was even a 5-minute read where the question mark evolved into two, so, it really gave an even more desperate feeling. [NOT a real quote from the story nor related] "The funeral was today. I was so heartbroken??" "I can't believe it??" "I will avenge you!??" It actually had me laughing, but I'm not sure if it was because I genuinely found it funny or if it was my way of mocking myself for actually being able to read these fake questions yet still somehow understand the story. (Please note that most of this "question" problem is mainly in Marlowe's route.) There were a few moments throughout my time playing where I was wondering if it's genuinely this bad or if this is some kind of troll, taking the description of this very game into consideration. *cough* "fappable storyline" *cough* There's a sweet guy named Phil in the story, and I kid you not, there were a handful of [typos???] that made his name "Fail". "Fail sighed and left the room." Savage. The translations aren't actually as bad as you might think, I actually followed the story pretty easily (would have been even less challenging without all the question marks, though.) Buuuut... some of the translations were downright hilarious. Here's one for example, instead of saying, "He forcefully turned my face towards him", in the story it was, "The neck was twisted roughly to face him". Like, geez, I could hear her neck break just reading that. But anyway, I do feel bad for giving it a thumbs-down. (It's also my first negative review.) But I can say that it would have been a WAY better game if the translations were done properly, the story really wasn't actually that bad and I enjoyed that at least. P.S There is NO voice acting and NO trading cards! False advertising! Pros: - Decent art - Nice music - Unique and somewhat interesting story - Cheap I'll give it a 4/10, if the translations were better, it would be a solid 6/10.
Firstly: This game needs a content warning for rape or "unwanted attention using force". Pros: - The characters have truly beautiful artwork. - The 4 endings are fairly different from one another, though all are predictable. - It is hilarious for a game with sex scenes to use the term "his thing" in a serious context. Cons: Technical: - The character art is the ONLY part of the game to recieve such attention and care. The backgrounds and the scenes are a completely different style and have none of the artistic quality that the character designs have. - The English translations are truly abhorent and sometimes unintelligible. The company does not address this issue at all when customers bring it up. Mispellings, wrong words, wrong genders, wrong names, sentences that don't make the slightest bit of sense. This game was not even glanced at by an English speaking human before it was released. It's worse quality than google translate. You can gather the gist of the story, but it's a real chore. Cons: Story Content: - The creators of this game do not know the difference between sex and rape. There is literally a rape scene in one of the endings, no matter how you look at it. - You have to sit through pages of dialogue about how horrible it is to be a weak pathetic woman who wishes she was a man... Despite the fact she is better, stronger, and more successful, than every man in this story. Though there does appear to be some attempt to address the complex theme of gender identity, during one ending. - The storyline is mildly interesting, but it seems more effort was put into the sex scene scripts than anything else in this game. So don't expect the game to be enjoyable if you do not place high value on sex scenes. Each sex scene has 2-3 censored illustrations, and a string of fairly detailed text. Though some parts of this text did make me question how much the writers knew about the female body, and exactly how much the poor translation affected these scenes.
Well, the first thing you notice when you start the game is the english. The english used for this game is worse than basic but if you can manage to ignore it and read it the way it should be written, you will enjoy it. Not even 2 minutes in the game you have already 2 achievements and a cg. The achievements are not in english, so you don't really know how to get them unless you are able to understand the language in which they are written (I guess?). The cg's are pretty good, I like the style and the colours. I have to admit that at first, I had no idea what the MC was, boy or a girl. Sometimes they refer to the MC as a male but then the MC refers to itself as a girl so I am pretty confused not only by that but his/her looks too. For now, I can say that with the low price it has, it is worth it.
Listen, I interact with people who don't speak English as a first language on a daily basis. In fact, I even have acquaintances who can't speak English at all. So, going into the game, the complaints about the translation being bad didn't phase me. I've seen people complain about other game translations that only sound a little stilted but make perfect sense, so it couldn't be that bad, right? Besides, the store screenshots are in Japanese I can read, so I can just play it in the OG JP version for the full, unadulterated experience if I want to. but I was wrong This game is, at times, completely incomprehensible. It has translations that are so mind-bendingly nonsensical that it calling it Google translated is an insult to the company's halfway decent machine translator! Please, for the love of God, stay away from this game. They're using the Japanese screenshots to hide the absolute affront to the English language that is the translation. Now that's sneaky! But you know what's even sneakier? There is no JP language support! It's just insult to injury. Please don't give these hacks money, even if the game is super cheap on sale. I refunded, not for the money, but because I couldn't bear the thought of giving anything resembling monetary support to the publisher Also there's no trading cards even though they're advertising it, so you can't even recoup your money if you did keep it.
