The videogame industry is in danger! A dishonest organization (A.M.E.) has set out to monopolize the industry and thus control the minds of the players. Developers and distributors have two options: either they take their side or else the market will end up crushing them.

A challenging yet fair platformer with around 3-4 hours of content. Levels consist mostly of environmental hazards like spikes and rotating platforms instead of enemies. The only major blemish is that there are a few lines of text in the game that weren't properly translated into English, but it's not a plot driven game.
Is a nice game
Leopoldo Manquisel falls flat on its face because of the extremely finicky controls. The jumps are extremely high, so your main concern is to not accidentally headbutt into an enemy. The collision detection is suffering for large hitboxes. If you stand close to an enemy your shots litterally go right through him. It is next to impossible to jump+dash over hazards in a narrow corridor with a low ceiling (this is mainly an issue when using a controller). And on and on it goes with unfair deaths. Oh, I almost forgot, 'shoot' and 'dash' are reversed from their conventional position on the controller. After dying at least 20 times in a row in level 2-5 on the same simple hazard I gave up on Leopoldo - not a rage quit, just a very disappointing gaming experience. This should have been a platformer where you can dash through the levels trying to achieve a fast run, but instead it felt like I was a cripled invalid stumbling through the levels getting killed over and over by simple hazards. The game certainly has potential, because the graphics look nice and the levels in principle are well designed. It is just that getting through each level is such a chore because of difficulties with the basic game mechanics. [update 2020-01-18] I have now completed the game. The 3-X levels are generally better than the earlier levels, most of them were quite enjoyable actually. The level that stood out most positively was the 2-8 boss level, which is very different from the rest of the game and was actually a total blast to play - I whish all the other levels were just as good as this one. Because of the later levels I have amended my recommendation to a "recommended", but only for hardcore fans of platformers.
Guys, I highly recommend you to pay attention to the Vanir Project. I first met this company while playing Nightmare Boy (ps4) and immediately fell in love with what they do. I am very surprised by the mixed reviews for NB, and after reading them, I realized that these people did not go through it and did not leave the starting locations. Speaking about their games, I can say that there is an excellent balance and a very pleasant difficulty, the graphics indicate a unique style that cannot be confused with anything. Having played these games, I became confident that talented developers work in the studio. It seems that these people clearly love what they do. I'm really looking forward to the next project and a big hello to the team and Victor! Thank you so much for the great games! I definitely recommend everyone Leopoldo Manquiseil and Nightmare Boy.
