Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded

Sehr authentisches Remake des absoluten Klassikers von 1987. Das Spiel richtet sich aber eher an Leute, die das Original bereits gespielt haben, als an die breite Masse. Gewisse "nervige" Teile des Spiels (Ja, ich rede von dem Geld farmen bei den Slotmaschinen) wurden absichtlich übernommen, um das Spiel nah am Original zu halten. Allerdings steuert man das Ganze natürlich in normaler Point&Click-Manier und nicht wie noch im Original über das Schreiben von Befehlen. Für alle, die das Spiel noch mal in modernem Gewand erleben wollen, auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

Another remake of this classic X-Rated game. The first Larry game was something unique and fresh back in 1987. It's public was supposed to be teenagers and young adults, but it somehow reached everyone, including kids. The game was eventually remade 1:1 on 1991 with much better graphics and ditching the text parser interface. Then we got this game back in 2013, that brings Larry first game to the new century. Fortunately, it's not just another 1:1 remake. While almost everything of the original game is still here, there are enhancements and fixes everywhere. It's now impossible to reach a deadend, and while you can still die everywhere, you are automatically put back before your fatal mistake. Also for the first time, the game is fully voiced. The Larry actor is the same one as every other Larry game since we heard him for the first time in LSL6, and all other characters are good too. Music is a mix of jazzy and synth tunes, again being perfect for this kind of game. Since we are still in the 80s, expect a ton of references to that time period, including the infamous quiz questions at startup to check you are an adult (or were an adult back then). While the known five locations are still the same, there's now extra locations in the Casino, including a new girl with a lot of new puzzles that are not easy at all. While everything can be figured out with some persistence, the game tends to have items appearing or not by returning several times to the same room. This was typical in most Sierra games, giving the sensation that the world is alive and changing, but it's a little frustrating when you are missing a random item behind one of these RNG events. The best thing the game has to offer though, is the amount of clickable hotspots with tons of puns, innuendo, double entendres, and aged references. The narrator had a ton of fun with all the crazy descriptions, and being a Larry game, everything is some sort of sexual reference. There's now also 40 (!) achievements, some being very creative. With a game so short, this brings a little more gameplay, letting you see some hidden interactions that you would probably miss otherwise. This is the best way to play the first Larry adventure. It's a shame they didn't do the same for the now super outdated Larry 2 and 3.

Понравилась атмосфера двойной ностальгии. Дело в том, что хоть и подарил мне брат в год выхода. На том момент были другие дела и игры, но уже в тот момент было приятно попытаться пройти первую часть, после 7 в далёком 99 году. Сейчас же прошёл полность и даже несколько раз. Отсылки на Харви Ванштейна, на кикстартеры модные в 2010-е. Отсылки на сериалы 2000-х, на Трампа и модные тогда 80-е. Игра про 80-е из 2010-х заиграла новыми красками и погрузила в двойную ностальгию. Приятное отвчлечение на фоне современности. Да и работа проделана очень хорошая, видна душа. Жалко что без ремастередов других частей.

A very dedicated to remaster to the original. Leisure Suit Larry is an old school adventure game that follows the sad tales of a 40 year old virgin. Larry is looking for love. In order to try and find love you must solve puzzles a la old school Sierra days where puzzle solving takes a strange often illogical solution in order to move the game forward. The puzzles aren't exhausting in this game, they can be a bit more simple than most Sierra style games, but you can still die. Here at least, it just restarts you where you made the mistake. There is no more, you better have saved or else scenario like you would find yourself faced with back in the day. Those games were unforgiving. You still utilize the different icons such as the walk, look, take/use, zipper and tongue. The latter two make for some great narration though so make sure to take advantage of those icons. The music is similar to the original but remixed for today's standards, which is much better than the old school midi composition, but today's tunes in the Reloaded version still have the same themes, so it's a bit nostalgic. The graphics are very much cartoony with what appears to be handed painted scenes and animations. It all looks great for this type of game, since a photo realistic Larry would just be creepy and definitely more bordering on trying to feel like a porn game than a cheeky adventure game bout a guy trying to get laid. If you enjoyed the game from the past, this is not a bad way to revisit. Overall the storyline is funny, but not absolutely entertaining, and if you're into adventure/puzzle games, I will admit there are far better, but Larry....Larry is a classic brand of adventure game that I hope most people will remember 10-20 years from now and this game seriously helps to keep it alive.
