Played through the main story mode. Puzzles were sometimes very obtuse. Worst experience was the button mashing in the final Mount Doom scene. There is a major glitch that makes the button mashing input not work in several moments. Had to restart the game mutliple times, switch the resolution to 800 x 600 and turned on V-sync. Also the game does not remember previous video and audio settings after being properly exited and restarted. Only good part was the use of actual movie dialog. Give it a pass.
Let me just say that I don't have nostalgia for this game. I only played LEGO starwars as a kid. That being said, this game is actually really fun and polished. Plays smooth, uses some audio from the movies, puts a funny spin on a lot of scenes from the movies. It's a great LotR game, a great LEGO game, a great game. Really fun. Also I played more hours offline on steamdeck. That's another thing. It's steamdeck certified, (I play it exclusively on deck) and is perfect for deck. Controls are great, and runs flawlessly.
First impressions are LOVELY. Its a lego game, so you know what to expect on the gameplay front, but the way the story is told is pretty great. I was really pleasantly surprised to see them using the actual dialogue from the movies. Its abridged, but its the actual actors and the lines are pulled straight from the movies. Definitely has the Lego charm and whimsy - I've already chuckled a few times in the first hour. Will continue to update review as I go. EDIT #1: Lets call a spade a spade....this is a kids game, but its a VERY well made kid's game. Combat has absolutely zero challenge, but its fairly fun to just button mash things to death, and the puzzles, while simple, are pretty fun. Just wrapped up Fellowship of the Ring, and it took about as long as it takes to watch the movie. I've been wanting to rewatch the trilogy, and this is scratching that itch wonderfully.
Can't do fullscreen-borderless even with launch options. Which means you have to deal with your display flickering everytime you need to access something else on your PC or your second monitor.
Honestly more fun than expected I was in the mood for a LotR game and even though this is basically a kids version of it, i feel it scratched the itch You'll probably get the best experience out of it if you have someone to play with in coop mode, but even played solo it's good stuff Downside is it's a bit of a half assed port to PC, uncomfortable controls that completely ignore the mouse, a few bugs, occasional crashes Nothing that prevents it from being playable, and very much enjoyable
So many glitches. Kids couldnt finish it due to glitch in end scene.

Bosul Shaibelor the game, if you know you know
It's actually a pretty fun and funny game. Definitely grab a friend or a waifu and play this game.
