The game should be called Lego Cyborg, considering how many suits and abilities he has compared to the rest of the 140+ character roster, most of whom are just clones of the other Justice League characters. I also don’t get why they even bothered adding vehicles when you can fly everywhere much faster than any of the land or air vehicles anyway. The only real reason you have to use them is for the land races on Oa. The VR missions add basically nothing but filler, and the Lantern planets are awful to complete because of the constant camera shake and overly sensitive flying controls. Other than that, the base game story was great. I’m just disappointed that, like many other Steam games, 100% achievement completion is locked behind DLC. It only took me 33 hours to fully complete the base game, and I probably would’ve finished even sooner if I didn’t genuinely enjoy destroying every destructible LEGO object in the game with lasers.

It’s less of a "Batman" game and more of a "Justice League Field Trip where Batman forgot his snacks." Here’s the lowdown: The Plot: Brainiac is being a nuisance, so Batman and friends have to go to space. It turns out that when you take the "World's Greatest Detective" out of a dark alleyway and put him on a bright pink planet, he gets very, very grumpy. The Roster: There are over 150 characters. You can play as a literal dinosaur, a 1960s Adam West, or Conan O'Brien. Yes, the late-night talk show host is in the Batcave, and he will not stop talking. It’s the closest a video game has ever come to a fever dream. The Fashion Show: This game is obsessed with outfits. Batman has more wardrobe changes than a pop star at the Grammys. Need to fly? Space suit. Need to be invisible? Stealth suit. Need to feel festive? Probably a suit for that too. The Music: Every time Wonder Woman flies, her 1970s TV theme song plays. It is glorious for the first 50 times. By the 500th time, you will be humming it in your sleep while questioning your life choices. [b] Pro Tip: If you get stuck, just switch to Superman. He is essentially a cheat code made of bricks and perfect hair. [/b]
🧴 A true homage to the Batman classics, though the story is about something completely different. The main missions are quite varied, but they're hardly epic, and the final feels downright weak, though the magic is in the details. Brainiac's threat is absurdly innocuous, and much of it fades into the background. However, this is a large game with an curious approach, devoting as much time to world exploration as to levels. Three hubs, Lantern planets, and small but enjoyable DLC missions with various themes. More focus on the West-universe would certainly liven up the bland plot, but even so, the game is genuinely fun and definitely recommended for Bat-fans. Just don't forget your Bat Shark Repellent!
