I think people are way to harsh on this game, yes it is janky as hell and yes the story is cheesy and b-grade at best, but honestly the concept alone is the only reason why i think this game is worth playing, the idea of mythical monsters wreaking havoc on modern day society is just to good to ignore, i really wish games would explore more on this concept and that they could have a better execution.
Never have expectations, and be ready to be surprised. Considering all the scores, reviews, and internet discourse about Legendary, I really thought it was going to be a dumpster fire, luckily, I like to give chances to strange stuff, and Legendary is fine, good even. It's pretty original and different, and while I think it's a bit too clunky and unfinished, it has its charm. The chaotic nature of a megalopolis being invaded by mythical creatures is so weird it's funny, but seeing a griffin flying through NYC was pretty bonkers. The game runs pretty well, besides the one elevator bug where it is needed to cap the FPS at 30. Considering it's a 2008 port running today, it's pretty solid. The soundtrack is also pretty good. It's just music playing in the background, no complex system or anything, but it is solid metal, with awesome bass tracks. I liked it a lot. I liked Legendary, it's an obscure game from a time when budgets and development cycles actually allowed devs to be inventive with their creations. Legendary, albeit problematic, is original and gave me nostalgia from a time that will never be back. Good one. :)
Legendary junk.
It's not a masterpiece, but it's definitely a very enjoyable FPS. It's based on a cool overall concept, it has some great levels and badass enemies. The soundtrack is fantastic, really top notch. There is one quality of life improvement I recommend: turn off mouse acceleration to make aiming less wobbly. It can easily be done: go in the folder Documents\My Games\Legendary\PandoraGame\Config\, open the file PandoraInput.ini, and change the value bEnableMouseSmoothing from "true" to "false". The press was extremely harsh on this game back then. I honestly don't know why. In my view, it's a 7/10.
The animations in this game are incredible. Better than most games of the more modern era. It definitely has some "jank" as many games of the PS3/X360 era do, but it is surprisingly good and I am a bit disappointed that I waited so long to play it! Definitely recommended if you like Bioshock, Singularity or any of those types of FPS games.
What an awesome game! For 2008 game it actually works pretty well!
pretty cool short fps if you can get it on a deep sale even though it is kind of mediocre overall

The fact this relic just works out of the box and supports 1440P is worth an upvote on it's own.
