pourquoi il n'y a t'il pas la version française ?
So first off, I just want to put it out there, to be able to run this game you need to mod it, thankfully there is a guide on Steam where someone just links you to the files and even gives you instructions on what settings you need to use for the launch settings that way it plays well and stable. I recommend following that guide and doing the things it listed as I did exactly that and only had the game crash once instead of multiple times, I think the only thing you don't need to do is put it on Windows mode, I played on full-screen fine. Alright so this game was... interesting to say the least, I think it definitely shows its age but I also think the game had a lot of good to it. The game is essentially a 3D Metroidvania. You have a big map to explore that is mostly Linear at first and you can't access most areas until you get the power that allows you to traverse through certain sections of the map. You fight a boss in each section and you can even go to parts of the map that are not required but are explorable to get more power ups and collectibles. The word "collectibles" should be taken very loosely though as the only thing you really collect is pizza slices (as I called them) to increase the length of what the game interprets as your health. The other things you can find are runes that give you a New spell to use and thats pretty much it. The narration and story, just like the first game, is incredibly good. I enjoyed this games narration and story as much as I enjoyed Blood Omen and that was the main reason why I kept going and playing the game. The combat as well is pretty satisfying as I loved being able to just stab monsters and then picking up weapons with my magnet hands, throwing the weapons from a distance and being strategic by dodging attacks. Fighting does have some downfalls however as there were times when enemies would potentially stun lock me or I would hit them and it would push them too far back for me to continue my combo. The Boss fights however were all just a big joke, they all had to deal with a baby easy puzzle that just made the bosses feel like they were stupid. The puzzles Ranged from "ok this is easy" to hard to "How was I supposed to figure that out". The game wouldn't work properly at times so I would have the right solution but because the game bugged out it made me think I was doing it wrong so I would try something else until I eventually gave up and just looked it up only to find out I was doing the right thing from the start. For some reason, the devs were REALLY obsessed with Cube puzzles, like I'm talking REALLY Obsessed. I don't know why the hell there were so many damn Cube puzzles but it's kind of hilarious to think that someone was paid to make the puzzles of the game and all they thought about was cubes. Besides that though a lot of the times I just really didn't know where to go, or what direction to go next. Some puzzles or dungeons as well had no sense of direction. Player pathing in the game is pretty poor and you don't realize how important it is until you play a game without it where it tells you to figure it out on your own with no indication of how. I love games that don't hold your hand but this game really had issues with making things clear to the player. Would I play this game again? Probably not, but as a Fan of the series and Gothic/Fantasy settings, this was pretty ok. I'm glad I was able to experience this game and the Story is really good. I enjoyed every moment of interaction that each character had with each other. Maybe the remake makes this game more tolerable but I have no idea as I have not played those. Vae Victis!
