It's a humorous visual novel that satirizes corporate culture and bureaucracy first, and a tactical turned-based strategy game second. It's also delightfully smutty if you want it to be, but player choice guides the tone very heavily. Excellent writing and voice acting, 11/10. If you're even a casual fan of turn-based strategy like XCom, or especially Fire Emblem, then set the difficulty to max for the best experience.

This game has everything! Something they should mention in the trailer, will help to boost sales and increases shareholder happiness

Absolute Cinema

Its been a long time since i have honestly laughed my arse off at the quality and wit of the writing and voice acting in this game! The turn based battles are nice and crunch too

A truly hilarious game, with a shockingly deep combat system that manages to keep every fight feeling unique, fresh, and requiring new puzzle solving skills while building on what you know. Only complaint about the game is that, especially later on, there is very often minor desync issues between the text and voice acting, somethings mismatch between what is written and what is said, or just no VA for some lines randomly, or the text box cuts off early. Otherwise, an absolutely fantastic game with plenty of replay value

my TLDR. If you enjoy Baldurs Gate 3 or similar games, play this, you will not be disappointed. Do you normally not enjoy dating sims because they portray relationships and sex in an off putting way? But enjoy all the aspects off turn based rpgs with a banger story and a focus on companions and the relationships you build with them? Then you are like me and you will enjoy Ledgerbound. ------- Dating sim ------- I never play dating sims because of the sentiment above, but the way this was written, the humor, the exceedingly gripping narrative and colourful cast of characters got me hooked. It is absolutely made for a dating sim audience, the writing is flirty and horny, there is innuendos everywhere and sexuality is at the front of the worldbuilding. But it's done classy and maturely with well placed humor. Everyone is on board with what is happening and my thought was "when in Rome...". It also knows when not to be sexy, there are plenty of heartfelt moments between friends that gets you to genuinely care for these characters. And combining dating sim with an adventure story like this made it just that much better! You can play the dating sim aspects of it in many ways to, polyamorous, monogamous or platonic. And for a dating sim, the platonic relationships are genuinely great. Honestly some of the best platonic relationships in the games I have played. Larian take notes. Removing the time management feature was a must and drastically increased my enjoyment of it. Playing with time management simply makes you loose out on conversations. which increases replay value, but reduces the first time experience. ------- RPG ------- Beyond all of that, the turn based rpg part is simple but brilliant. It turns into chess if you are going for a perfect score. The decision making you are forced to do, where to place which character, who attacks who, how to exploit the enemy AI. I had the same feeling as I had when I played Divinity OS2 or BG3. Gearing up your characters is also well implemented. The constant back and forth between fights and chatting at camp was a great gameplay loop and made it easy to jump in, do an encounter and a camp chat and then quit if I only had an hour or so to play. ------- Bugs ------- Some minor annoyances, nothing game braking - the combat at sea started lagging. Map animations started skipping and the camera skipped from one spot to the next instead of moving smoothly. This continued into several combats after this point, but not all. Restarting my pc mid combat fixed this each time it showed up. - a few voice lines didn't match with the text on screen. A few voice lines cut out mid sentence. A few voice lines where missing toward the end of the game. ------- All in all, I applaud you OmniMegaSuperCorp, The journey I went on with one of my new favorite group of companions will stick with me for a long time.
