This game is a turn based deck builder. The player is rewarded with action points for correct answers. In battle the questions that are used in game are chosen by the player so you can study what you want. I made the mistake of selecting to many which slowed my gameplay because i was forgetting what i selected. To get a more enjoyable experience i would choose a group of 5 new cards after each run there is also an option to create your very own questions for yourself, im looking forward to making my own after i master all the default questions. Still haven't manged to complete a run yet the RNG is not kind which is fine. i would say this game is a great for people new to Japanese or looking to study N5.
This game is great fun, for someone using Duolingo to learn Japanese already this is a great supplement to learning characters and vocabulary. Not only that the battles are enjoyable and the boss battles have real tension. Looking forward to seeing how the developer builds on the game in early access.
Great deckbuilding rogue-like game with deep strategic and card mechanic that is addictive while practicing/learning language. Highly recommended for anyone who like card games and language learning as a core function. This is still in early access so expect a lot more contents and changes on its way.
The games seems to have a lot to learn from, but the UI and pacing are both really confusing. Not to mention it crashed multiple times in the brief time I tried to play. I bought this to compliment my Japanese learning, but there are easier to use apps and games that function better. It's too bad, because this seems like something the devs put a lot of heart and effort into making.
Slay the Spire meets Japanese learning/Comprehensible Input Basically the gameplay loop of Slay the Spire and that genre, but there's a progress book with explanations of the 3 Japanese alphabets, you can read their explanations, pick which ones you wanna learn(you can go through a game with JUST 5 characters(minimum), first Hirogana, then when you have 5 of those learned, it allows you to add in Katakana, and 5 of those it lets you add Kanji, and then after that milestone, it begins to give you common sentences. The StS part will give you quizzes as you play what you'd expect from that genre and the more you get correct with the characters, the more damage buffs and energy you get based on the round(get none right and you get no energy! But it's an effective teacher lol). It's currently early access, maybe debatable if it can teach you ON ITS OWN, but it WILL give you a solid start or even be a solid supplement if you've already been learning it. But if you're a gamer, and you've also barely touched language learning, still give this a shot. You may be surprised what you pick up and how quickly with a game like this. You can add in characters, temporarily turn them off, add in 20 if you want, mix and match. Gaming and Comprehensible Input is such a great genre I hope for others to do similar in the future!
Its a learning tool, but the game is impossible to beat due to the hp disadvantage. A user will become frustrated quickly when they come to the first boss. Even if you play perfectly you will not win.
Of course you cannot expect to become a japanese pro through a game like this, however, it really helps getting the vocabulary and the basics in a fun way. It is good that the battles aren't too tough, as that isn't the focus here. So check it out if you are interested in learning japanese! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQKJSPXcIiE
Lovely game that's super helpful in learning basic Japanese. There are visuals to help remember the sound of different hiragana and katakana, and the creator updates the game regularly as they move towards a full release.
Per quanto sia amatoriale ho apprezzato ciò che offre, lo consiglio ha chi ha un livello base di giapponese e vuole ripassare
I learned the word Gomi. It describes my experience. Not enough vocabulary options in the beginning
