Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.14/day in the week to Aug 25 → 3.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Layers of Fear is the definition of the walking simulator horror game. I don't think there's anything that can hurt you in the whole game. But it's interesting; the plot is good, the vibes are spooky, and it keeps you engaged. I think it's good for one playthrough if you allow yourself to get lost in the atmosphere.
The story is interesting, and the visuals are beautiful. However, the gameplay is dull.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 14: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

The atmosphere is fantastic, the visuals still hold up, and the house constantly changing around you keeps things interesting. There aren't any guns, combat, or monsters chasing you every five minutes—just pure psychological horror and a story that slowly pulls you in. Absolute cinema. Would give it 8/10
A really strong psychological horror game with an incredibly strong atmosphere, an amazing sound design and a good story. It’s basically a walking simulator but despite that it still manages to be extremely scary. I love how the level design feels like it changes every second and you never really know what is going to happen next. The game does a really good job at combining jumpscares with psychological horror and visual horror. Of course you can just rush through the game but in my opinion that’s not really the point. You should take your time and let the atmosphere, the design and all the small details sink in. That’s exactly why the horror works so well for me.
Layers of Boring. As many of the other reviews note, you spend most of your time wandering from room to room opening drawers and cabinets, mostly finding nothing. It seems completely linear, there are no stakes, no apparent goals, no way to make a mistake or succeed--you just wander until the game's over. There's no substance to the story; for me, if there's no substance to the story, it's difficult for me to care about the scares. A jump scare without any substantive story context is meaningless in my opinion. I might as well be watching random flashing lights and images. One of the reviewers put it well when they said that it was an art project in search of a game. The art design deserves a 5 out of 5. Every other aspect of the game is a zero.
I can't believe it. I bought the game because I've seen it's a classic in the genre. I saw it's about art- a topic deeply personal for me so I purhased. I started the game, went inside the house, then the living room. I was impressed by the design of the house and how "lively" it felt, despite the circumstances. But the music... Oh the song... I was looking around, finding and reading notes, already sensing how something is very wrong. Then the descend into hell began. Gameplay wise it's nothing astonishing- you go around, do criptic (but rather easy) puzzles, the layout of the mansion changes as you progress, jumpscares here and there. I found the control for opening drawers and doors really cool, somehow done better than in Visage, for example, where you also drag the mouse to open something. 3-4 hours later... Tears won't stop dropping. This is not your typical "Oh spooky mansion with ghosts and jumpscares" horror. If you came for that, you may be disappointed. This is a story about guilt and an attempt of redemtion. The price of greatness. Of course, bear in mind my opinion is entirely subjective and based on the familiarity with the theme. For me, this is a masterpiece. For you, it may be a boring and easy puzzle not-so-scary game. In any case, draw your own conclusions. Horror is not always about the paranormal, but the conseqences of our sins.
