I hate to leave a negative review but this is a $4 game at best.
Amazing game, very unique experience. Will be playing this everytime I have friends over. Can't reccomend it enough. (I got 0.2hrs on it because I got to play it on another Pc in my house)
Late for Work is an effing blast. I hosted a few VR house parties before everything went to hell, and LFW was a consistent favorite. Plenty of minigames to choose from, and intuitive-enough controls for VR newbies to pick up fast. It has the "pull-yourself-around" motion controls of Gorn, so it's kind to those sensitive to motion sickness. It also has Remote Play support, but I don't have any experience with it. And they released an update like yesterday! I love this sort of asymmetrical couch-friendly multiplayer VR stuff, and if you do too, this is a must-have. 10/10, definitely worth the price of admission, would divebomb my giant gorilla friend again

In Late For Work, one player assumes the role of a gigantic gorilla wreaking havoc, while up to four other players team up to try and bring the beast down. This chaotic, fast-paced VR party game is designed to keep everyone on their toes, blending both intense action and lighthearted fun. The game’s premise is simple: the gorilla must either wreak havoc and survive or be taken down by a group of determined players. The local multiplayer aspect is perfect for gatherings, as it supports a blend of VR and non-VR players, allowing everyone to jump into the action and enjoy the madness together. The rounds in Late For Work are quick and filled with intense action, making it a perfect fit for fast-paced gaming sessions. Players can swap out in between rounds, taking turns as the mighty gorilla or trying to take it down with everything they have. The game keeps things fun and unpredictable, with an emphasis on over-the-top physics where nearly every object in the environment can be used as a weapon or shield. This dynamic makes the gameplay more entertaining as players hurl objects, dodge attacks, and scramble to use whatever they can to either escape or fight back. The game features a variety of playful and chaotic game modes, each bringing a unique twist to the standard party gameplay. In Classic Deathmatch, the VR gorilla faces off against tanks and jets in a battle for supremacy, while in Hide & Seek, players work to retrieve stolen work items before time runs out. The Last Man Standing mode challenges players to find hidden enemies while avoiding the trickery of special disguises. For even more absurdity, Bull Run introduces normal and rebel cows that players must distinguish between, and UFO Invaders pits players against aliens attempting to abduct livestock. The playful nature of the game extends to modes like Bodyguard, where players must identify hidden spies before they eliminate their VIP targets, and Ape Escape, where the tiny gorilla must evade capture by mad scientists armed with oversized nets. Each game mode introduces new challenges and strategies, ensuring that no two rounds ever feel the same. The variety of modes offers something for everyone, whether they prefer action-packed battles or more strategic, hide-and-seek-style gameplay. Overall, Late For Work excels in its ability to bring people together for a shared VR experience, blending chaos, strategy, and humor into one fun-filled package. The combination of local multiplayer with both VR and non-VR players is a rare treat, making it an excellent choice for group gaming sessions. The wild physics and creative game modes keep the action fresh, and the game’s lighthearted tone ensures it’s always more fun than frustrating. Whether you’re a VR enthusiast or a newcomer, Late For Work offers a memorable and engaging multiplayer experience that’s sure to keep everyone laughing and coming back for more. Rating: 8/10
The best VR Party game out right now
This is a great game and perfect to play with friends using parsec (https://parsecgaming.com/) as being in the same room with the person wearing vr can be arkward and hard to see the screen as they are standing in front of it or making wild movements close to everyone else. Using parsec anyone using controller can be in any room or even remote and it works well. The game is very fun and reminds me a little of mario party mini games. Would be best to come out with more modes. Great price and fun for what it is now. I recommend you get it for game night.
very fun; needs polishing on controller mechanics and the custom gamemode "menu" could either use more functions tweeking or just a UI menu 09/19/2024 edit: id say after having it for a couple years now, I'm a bit disappointed to see a lack of work return to the concept. coming back, the game remains about the same. it some how runs less effective then it did when i bought it, and the updates to steam input don't seem to respond as much. would of bee nice to have at least some more local-play game-modes or an update to QA, but for $16? i do not recommend at its current state.
Probably one of the funniest games I've ever played.
Fun little VR party game. This has been on my list for a really long time and I'm so glad I finally tried it. Will definitely be on the menu the next time I'm able to wrangle some extra folks and that's totally its bread and butter. But I'm glad they added some single player intro content so you don't feel bummed when you first get it if there's nobody around. Might try my hand at toying with the custom game tweaking they added in beta mode too if I want to prepare for when videogame newbies come over.
