just some good ole puzzles
I really wish there were more "GO" games. While Lara Croft GO isn't a masterpiece, there is so much more the developers could have done with the concept before abandoning it. At its heart, Lara Croft GO is a mobile game ported to PC. This is highly noticeable in the strange controls, which I actually ended up enjoying. The mechanics themselves are simple to understand and not that hard to master too. The "hints" feature just straight up tells you exactly what to do though so you can just skip the thinking part entirely. The game takes about four hours to complete, and around five hours to 100%. Despite being short, it still managed to drag on a bit because new ideas are introduced far too slowly. The base game only adds one or two minor changes per chapter while just making the levels longer and more difficult. Also the game has little to no story, which makes it ridiculous that it recommends waiting to play the bonus chapters until after the main campaign. They spoil absolutely nothing and contain way more unique concepts than the base game. I would have loved it if every chapter had a new element like the bonus chapters did, rather than expanding on the themes only after the main game ended. By the time I got to those levels, I didn't care about actually playing them, though I could still appreciate what they were trying to do. Aside from featuring Lara Croft exploring some tombs, the game has nothing to do with Tomb Raider lore. However, I do love it's visual look. I love the art style, the low poly look is colorful, easy on the eyes, and will age like fine wine. Overall, Lara Croft GO is a fun and easy game to 100%. I wouldn't recommend buying it at its full price of €10, but when it goes on sale for €1.49, it is well worth it if you are looking to use a little brainpower. It's a shame Lara Croft GO 2: Electric Boogaloo doesn't and probably never will exist.
Good game, but difficult on the later levels
