This game is quite good. Wish I could say it is great or awesome, but sadly, I can't. It had a lot of potential, and did many things right, but there are also many things that simply keep it from being the awesome game it could have been. A few examples of that: - The graphics are gorgeous, everything looks really nice, there's a lot of variety everywhere. However, it lags quite a bit, no matter the quality (I have a geforce 1050ti, not the best, but not bad either, and I usually can run games like this one with max quality or so), and for the size it has, variety isn't enough: e.g. there are tons and tons of books, but they are all the same, over and over; tons and tons of drawers to open, but they all contain the same stuff, no matter where they are located (maybe leaving most of them empty would have been better, since this breaks immersion a bit); a lot of flowers and vegetation, but also mostly the same, repeated over and over, etc. - Some puzzles are great, ingenious, different from the ones you find in these kinds of games (and I've played a bunch of them); I totally loved them. However, others are very common, and are found many many times over in the game, enough to get you to hate them (the puzzles boxes you find all have an obnoxious flipping things puzzle; once I was tired, and couldn't find the solution, I lost a whole hour trying to figure it out, and ended up doing it in 5 mins the next day; I never wanted to see them again, however it was the third one out of nine!!). Most are very very logical and reasonable, and yet there are one or two that don't make sense (one in particular, a sort of "detective" puzzle, makes 0 sense for a number of reasons, both as a puzzle, and story-wise). - The story is intriguing, mysterious, engaging; and yet can be incredibly vague, to the point where I'm not sure I fully got it after having finished the game. Also, a lot of it is found through notes, which can be out of order, so you have to find all of them and reread them in order, which is a bit obnoxious. Also, you can't reorder them, and they show up in your notebook in the place where you found them, instead of in the order required to read them properly; this is something that should be relatively easy to fix and improve. - The size of the world is perfect for exploration; not too big, but not too small; properly delimited so not to explore things that weren't meant to be explored, and every place (or every relevant place at least) can be visited again before the end of the game, in case you missed anything. However, most of the stuff there is to find can be found by simply following the story, and so exploring is not as rewarding as it could have been. I think a bit more stuff to find would have been nice. - Characters are mostly great and very interesting, but they could have been explored a bit more; e.g. one of them is barely mentioned, yet played an intricate role in the story. The game may still get updated and improved, its last update was in march, so it is not abandoned. However, I think most of these things will probably remain unchanged. It makes sense, after all "a work of art is never complete, it is merely abandoned", however it is a bit sad, because this had the potential to be an awesome exploration game, and it fell a bit flat. Yet, all in all, I enjoyed the game, and I recommend you give it a go, just don't expect this one to be the next "Firewatch" xD.

It's good looking and has some fun puzzles, the story is unfortunately quite poor in its structure and execution, but if you like atmospheric environments it's good for that
Finding this in my backlog, I thought I'd bash it out and see what happens. I started out looking forward to playing the game, but it didn't take long to feel bored and unimpressed. First off I'd have to say the visuals weren't as great as the screenshots on the store page make it out to be - overall it was pretty dull and seemed mostly to be shades of browns, greens and greys. There is a thing where you can light any lights you come across (as if by magic as some are just lying around in the grass) but I stopped doing this when even this simple action seemed pointless to me. In all truth though, I had no issues with the puzzles. Everything DOES make sense, despite what others might say. The only trouble I ended up cracking it over was puzzle box 9, but after looking up the answer it seems it can be done as well, haha. Well, I did 8/9 by myself so I'm kind of satisfied. I'll treat myself to a naughty food treat later. The problem with this game is its pacing. Boredom and falling asleep at your keyboard are your greatest enemies. Various reasons spring to mind: the puzzles are limited to only two or three different sorts (the nine puzzle boxes are all the same type of game); some areas are too big so there's too much running around; looking for items can be tiresome (and occasionally you have to backtrack [strike]for more fun times[/strike]). The background music seems quiet too in comparison to the voices, I hardly knew it was there so I can't really judge it. Inside the house, there is just far too much of the same stuff everywhere. Bottles and bottles and bottles, and if it isn't that it's books. Occasionally there's a gadget lying around... too bad you can't interact with any of them as it might have added a bit of substance to the game. Another issue is the convoluted 'mystery'. For starters, it isn't even a mystery when, at the first glowing stone puzzle, you can find a note that says a great evil is sealed here, don't let the stones glow red, so you go and release it and it's the first thing that isn't your sister that speaks to you. I don't even have to spoiler tag it as the game gives it away for you close to the start! Of course, that knowledge won't help you with the puzzles, I'm not that nice. I won't give you any answers here. But the game has a hint system built into the menu so if you get stuck you won't be stuck for long. So in the end it's like a lacklustre experience that seems to be trying to be several genres at once but not really doing well at any of them. If you want a walking sim there are better games out there. If you want a puzzle game most hidden object games are better alternatives.
Pésimo juego, buenas fotos para sacar
Weird game and the puzzles were just the same type of puzzle box or puzzles that were not intuitive at all most of the time. It'd be like if someone gave you five candy bars and told you to arrange them in the correct order and you were given ZERO clue as to how to arrange them. Arrange them by year, alphabetical, weight, price, popularity, etc... Who knows? The game gives you zero clues. I took my time with this game, collected every single item and clue I could find, and the only way to beat it is to use the hints or look up the solution. I love puzzle games. The Layton series is one of the best game series ever! But this game just stinks!
One of the first games I played when I got a PC
It was fun when it wasn't frustrating. Good parts are, the whole atmosphere is well done, visuals, music, ambients set the mood nicely. But that's where good ends. The story makes no sense, neither during the play, nor when you finish it. It has three parts which mix worse than water and oil slapped together. Puzzles are more annoying than fun. There are four kinds of them. 1) Flip the rectangular board of different size from one state to another by clicking every cell which flips all adjacent ones. It's annoying because it's used repeatedly (10 times or so), most of them are HUGE (we're talking even 10x10 huge), and they flip SLOWLY. 2) Puzzles which rely on seemingly intentionally vague audio/visual clues (repeat a sequence of 10 notes of almost identical pitch which you could only figure out with a perfect ear or a spectrum analyzer on an audio capture, or a looped sequence of lines where you are not shown where the start is). 3) Puzzles which look so out of place you are just flabbergasted. 4) A handful of puzzles which fit the setting, but are still rather funky. And on top of that, you have to walk, walk, walk, walk, walk, between two furthest points on the map, then retrace your steps back all the way, and then... Go to the furthest point and back once more. And that's just in one of the quests. (Yes, you literally have to go to point A, then are told you need to go to the point B which is the furthest from it to do stuff, then return to A to report, only to learn you need to go to B again to be given a key to do more stuff at B and return to A to report once more.) All the others are little better.
The puzzles were mostly fine and visuals were good, but there's way too much slow moving between the puzzles, the story was mediocre, and the voice acting was bad.
