I love the game, just wish there was a way to store your money in a bank so you don't get robbed all the time!! I've never gotten robbed several times a year IRL so it's a little unrealistic. Hard to progress but It's definitely engaging and addictive

Nice idea yes, but there are dozens of stats to keep track of. Also you don't get any visual data everyday morning on which stat drained during your sleep. So stat management becomes a chore, so you just go with the flow. This causes everyday to feel separate puzzle scenario instead of sim management. It is a weird feeling that very sneakily gives you an illusion of control just like life, but you know the simulation works independent of your decisions. You need to play to understand what I mean. This is just a heads up if your not into that kind of game-play loop.

It's good if you have nostalgia of this game like me, or if you want a really light version of the sims. (Veryyyyy light)

Over the years, I've bought Kudos 2 at least three times from the developer to support him. (Feel free to check it out: Positech Games, Cliff Harris) Now I found it here on Steam. I bought it again just to have it in my library. I just love Kudos 2. I've been playing it at least once a year since its release after the very first Kudos. Yes, the game may seem simple. Nevertheless, it satisfies a need of mine: to simulate a realistic life in peace (turn-based) with aesthetic, clear, realistic graphics. No overstimulation, just the core theme. And I can play it after work without my head shutting down. (I can't play survival games, they're too stressful for me.) The only thing I know that's similar is Tomodachi – but that clearly has a childish appearance, and who still has a DS these days? Kudos 2 has survived the years for me; it's not a guilty pleasure, it's become a mature companion for me. You create a character, choosing between two genders. You also decide on their outfit, hair, and clothes. Then your life as a young, penniless person begins. The “goal” is to live for 10 years. I think the best thing about this game is that I always learn something about myself. I'm not a social butterfly, so that's reflected here too. Kudos' beautiful style and the relaxed, non-annoying background music, the sound effects (snow, birds, rain; unfortunately, you can't click away the dentist, haha) – I love it. One area for improvement is that it lacks challenges. For example, becoming wealthy, or throwing a huge party after a certain amount of time, or starting a business/family, or creating a work of art, or becoming the best at a sport, something like that. So all that's left is for you to set your own goals (e.g., to be as happy as possible, to stay in good shape). It would also be nice if the character changed, like in KotoR, when you follow the light or dark side (and physically change). In Kudos, the character could become plumper or thinner, look happy or depressed. At least you get stinky flies over your head if you don't wash. Or if your apartment gets messy, the screen gets dirty too. I wish it would be modernized or—I would pay for it—there would be a Kudos 3.

I remember this game from when I was a kid. I bought it. I am going to get a refund, because it refuses to leave window mode and only shows half the game, there is no way to make it go full screen and its unplayable because I cant reach half the buttons. Fix your crap before you sell it, k? Thanks

I love this game, wish Kudos and Kudos Rock Band were on Steam. I was able to play it on Steam Deck by adding "-dx11" to the launch options and setting the resolution to 1024x768. There are a few issues with balancing the games where certain things don't make sense eg. on the birthdays it will say you're a loner but also outgoing and sociable. However overall it's a clever and cute life sim game from the 00s.

For the price, is still a decent game, but there are some annoying bugs. A 6.5 on 10, it really need a sequel!
