Fantastic game! I have not finished it, yet, but it is really interesting and captivating. Mechanics are good, the gameplay is nice. Someone complained that there was a lot of backtracking, and there is, but some of the best games include a fair share of backtracking. Also this keeps the game interesting and immersive. Only "issue" about the game is that it gets too overwhelming too fast. Just when you find an objective to do you find another, and another, and another... But that "issue" is not only covered by the story, graphics, and gameplay, but I also got the game on sale for 2 €. But with how much game there is behind the price I think even 15 € is more than worth it!
Solid atmosphere and unique setting but slow, tedious exploration makes for a dull game overall Additionally, it claims to be "Verified" on Steam Deck but achievements are not earnable at all - extremely frustrating. Will be using an achievement manager to resolve this because a second, full playthrough like the one I've done, is not something I wish to do again.
I absolutely loved this game. I did my first playthrough on foot, because I spied the achievements list, and man do I not regret it. It was immersive, and the narrator's voice acting (in French-Canadian) was on-point, thanks to Guy Nadon's performance. The story was good, nothing super out of the ordinary, but still engaging with ups and downs. Graphics were okay, but pretty good considering the small team. Same goes for the soundtrack. Achievements were fun and rewarded exploring the (pretty big) map. Gonna have to do another playthrough to get the last 2 remaining achievements to 100% it since I smoked wayyy to much, and drank as well ! Only thing I'd have liked is
an expanded side-story about the native huntress
Good game, 7.5/10 !
A very very ok game. Upon reading other reviews it felt other may have not enjoyed the ending. However, the ending is what leads me to give this a thumbs up. I think this game has very fun highs and very low lows. It felt really good figuring stuff out yourself and piecing together the mystery but then it's easy to get lost on what you should be doing next. Overall this game was quite mid but I thought the ending tied all the pieces together in a way that made a lot of sense. I think I went into this expecting a more grounded mystery but nonetheless it wasn't a bad game. 6/10
I want to play and enjoy this game. The mood gives me hope for the promise of a narrative twisting through capitalist rhetoric and yet the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ car won't drive.
The narrator system is genuinely smart — nudging you when you've missed something instead of leaving you clueless is exactly the kind of quality-of-life touch more walking sims need. Driving and snowmobiling both feel solid too. But the interaction design is a mess. You can pick up a hundred objects when maybe three actually matter, and the game happily lets you hoard hammers and saws you'll never use for anything. At one point I spent ages combing the entire map for sherry wine — something I could've just grabbed at the store — with zero indication whether I'd even need it later. And getting lost in the snow is way too easy; there's a middle ground between hand-holding with yellow paint markers and giving the player nothing, and this game just didn't find it. Solid game overall, but it broke a bit too hard from conventional design conventions that actually exist for a reason.
