Information / Review English
Klondike Solitaire Collection is a strategy card game developed by eSolutions.
Gameplay / Story
Classic solitaire is also called Klondike Patience. As the name suggests, it is designed for single players. The game trains patience and foresighted thinking. The goal is to sort the cards in ascending order (from ace to king) so that you end up with four piles of four different suits. The four discard piles are located on the top right of the play area. Below that are the decks. Usually you will find seven of them. The cards in the game stack are face down, only the last one – the so-called end card – is face up on the stack. The stacks start on the left with one card; if you move to the right to the next stack, you will find one more card. At the start of the game, the deck on the far right contains seven cards. In the playing field, you sort the playing cards in descending order, whereby the colors red and black must alternate. In the top left of the playing field you will find the talon with the reserve cards. Three cards from the reserve pool are face up next to the deck. You can use the top one in the field. If the card does not fit, you click on the talon, which then reveals the next three cards to you. When all cards have been revealed, you can start over. A new talon forms and again releases three playing cards. If you find an ace, you put it directly on any storage space. A king can be placed on an empty space on the playing surface to start a descending sort. To move cards, you click and drag the card to its destination.
Per
+ Arcade Solitaire + long motivation + great implementation + relaxed music + different levels + good prices + Achievements
cons
- Few different languages are available
Conclusion
Klondike Solitaire Collection offers you a solitaire experience that can score with several variants.

Information / Review Deutsch
Pro
+ Gehirntraining + lange Motivation + Arcade Solitaire + tolle Umsetzung + entspannte Musik + verschiedene Level + Errungenschaften
Kontra
- wenig verschiedene Sprachen sind verfügbar
Fazit
Good solitaire game with many different variations. Recommended
Enjoy Klondike solitaire (the "normal" one that comes with Windows) and want more? Here's a hefty collection with loads of variety. Minimalist UI, smooth play, works well on tablets. For more niche curation, follow me at: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/27440015-CSH-Picone/

edit: review text unchanged but flipped to a non-recommendation due to missing quality of life (e.g. no mid-game saving) and the dev deleting critical feedback to hide the shortcomings of their games. klondike solitaire collection is one of the not that many card game collections available on steam. some are better value for money, others are worse, but 20 variants will still keep anybody busy for a long time. since only a few are listed on the store page, here's the complete list:

agnes bernauer
agnes sorel
batsford
blind alley
can can
easthaven
eight by eight
giant
king albert
klondike
klondike (easy)
klondike by threes
klondike by threes (easy)
klondike territory
lana
new york
pas seul
steps
thumb and pouch
westcliff
rules for each are available in-game, there's unlimited undo and optional auto-complete to save on a lot of tedious clicking. stats keep track of times played, won, best time and score, etc. unfortunatly, the timer and move counter can't be turned off, they appear as soon as the first move is made. they're not super-intrusive at least. the end-level animation can't be skipped either, just as annoying. mouse controls are simply left click to drag cards around, double-click to move them instantly, the end. right click could do the double-click action too. controller is also supported, didn't try it, and not only are there hotkeys, noted next to every button for convenience, arrows and enter also work. why anybody would want to play solitaire with a keyboard (or a controller for that matter) is beyond me, but it's an option. hotkey binds aren't that great, 'y' to access rules, 'b' to close the window, which is also undo for some reason, and 'x' is auto-complete but when it's not available, it'll deal the next card, except it's not mentioned anywhere. and there needs to be a restart button on-screen, too tedious to get a new deal right now. settings, also available while playing, are limited to sound on/off, music on/off and a full screen toggle with a resizable window. some effects are a bit annoying but they're always the first to go in a game like this. classical renditions serve as music, very small selection sure to get on your nerves fast. progress is lost when you quit, which is not ideal, but it's all endless/random deals, so just about not a dealbreaker. a 'no more moves' pop-up would be appreciated though, as well as an 'only solvable layouts' toggle and seeds to replay the same ones later. while there are cheaper $/game alternatives, this is still a good collection. however, for this price it needs more quality of life and some customization. a few card backs and fronts, and definitely alternative themes to mix up all the greenness. until then I'd recommend waiting for a sale. forty thieves solitaire collection, freecell solitaire collection, spider solitaire collection and canfield solitaire collection are also available with 20 variants each.
Works well on the SteamDeck. It's a good all around game of Klondike Solitaire. Several variations.
