I played 7 of the game modes so far, they've all been enjoyable. I'm glad the devs put the time in implementing the feature where you double click on a card or stack and it moves in the most efficient way. There are some features that I still would've liked to see added: 1. Back in the day, when I played freecell on Windows xp, there was the option to select a seed for the random shuffle. Completing each seed gave a feeling of progression and also gave the possibility to retry a game, try a different approach. I would very much like having the option to enter a specific seed of a game. 2. Maybe a way to highlight all cards of a certain number or a certain suit would be nice. Sometimes I'm just staring myself blind on all those cards trying to find the ones I need. 3. In the game mode "Double Stalactites", an indication of the stack heights of the foundations would be really nice. It's hard to remember which stack has the most cards and because of the stack limit it's a vital piece of information. Doesn't even need to be a card counter per stack, simply an indication of which stack is heighest at the moment would already be a useful feature. EDIT (2022-06-12): I thought the game mode Bastille to be practically unplayable but it seems I didn't understand the rules enough. I didn't realize you could put a higher numbered card on a lower numbered, stacking them in reverse order of what normal freecell rules dictate. The game is about using this mechanic to free up the right cards in order to progress. You can only move one card at a time so having free 'waiting cells' doesn't help stack movement.
The more of these card games I play, the more I can understand why Microsoft selected the ones they selected to bundle with Windows. Some of the others are very interesting and fun to play but typically more complex and challenging. This is a great bundle. A substantial collection of quality FreeCell variants. My top picks are Bastille, Prison, and Milligan. Minamlistic but nice UI and very user friendly. Hours of entertainment. I have always been a big fan of Freecell. This program offers many variants that range quite a bit in difficulty. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate in the program. It is also easy to access the rules of particular games while playing them. The rules are written in a standard format making them easy to understand. and find particular information on particular games. The rules do use terms known to frequent players of solitaire type games.
Absolute rubbish! Lacks playability, no hints and no double click to position. My phone app freecell game is much more sofisticated and enjoyable to play than this. I played 9 games within approximately half an hour, got distracted by some family business and 3 or so hours later I uninstalled the game and put in for a refund. No refund because it exceeded 2 ours of SYSTEM time, not play time, play time was only 30 minutes at most. Steam need to fix that, Fair is fair, sometimes you spend more than 2 hours getting some games to work properly, and like I said this game was idle for most of those hours. Not fair to just take the money when your not recording actual game play time, just how long the game has been loaded into memory for.
Player for 1634 hours so far. Game is fun. Have an issue with fishing set ups disappearing. Purchased 3 Dlcs that never were downloaded. Very disappointed with customer support or lack of it.
If you want to play FreeCell and not have any ads or anything like that then this game is for you. A lot of other versions of FreeCell that I never heard of but I find enjoyable. The only thing I wish this game had was the ability to select what game you play....like the old windows version. Selecting game 1 of 100000 for example. Other than that I high recommend this along with all the other card games offered.
Games rules must be found by trial and error. Difficulty swings are very wide. Unfun.
edit: review text unchanged but flipped to a non-recommendation due to missing quality of life (e.g. no mid-game saving) and the dev deleting critical feedback to hide the shortcomings of their games. freecell solitaire collection is one of the not that many card game collections available on steam. some are better value for money, others are worse, but 20 variants will still keep anybody busy for a long time. since only a few are listed on the store page, here's the complete list:

alternate freecell
baker's game
baker's game (relaxed)
bastille
double forecell
double freecell
double stalactites
eight off
eight off (relaxed)
forecell
freecell
freecell (relaxed)
hardcell
milligan cell
penguin
prison
seahaven towers
seahaven towers (relaxed)
stalactites
wiltshire
rules for each are available in-game, there's unlimited undo and optional auto-complete to save on a lot of tedious clicking. stats keep track of times played, won, best time and score, etc. unfortunatly, the timer and move counter can't be turned off, they appear as soon as the first move is made. they're not super-intrusive at least. the end-level animation can't be skipped either, just as annoying. the stalactites variant is really neat. foundations already have a random card each and the first card you move over one of them decides if the interval will be 1 (as usual) or 2 (e.g.: 5-7-9-jack-king, etc.). mouse controls are simply left click to drag cards around, double-click to move them instantly, the end. right click could do the double-click action too. controller is also supported, didn't try it, and not only are there hotkeys, noted next to every button for convenience, arrows and enter also work. why anybody would want to play solitaire with a keyboard (or a controller for that matter) is beyond me, but it's an option. hotkey binds aren't that great, 'y' to access rules, 'b' to close the window, which is also undo for some reason, and 'x' is auto-complete but when it's not available, it'll deal the next card, except it's not mentioned anywhere. and there needs to be a restart button on-screen, too tedious to get a new deal right now. supermove or powermove is a great quality of life feature. depending on available free cells, you can move stacks without placing them individually over free cells, then moving one over, then placing the others on top of it. settings, also available while playing, are limited to sound on/off, music on/off and a full screen toggle with a resizable window. some effects are a bit annoying but they're always the first to go in a game like this. classical renditions serve as music, very small selection sure to get on your nerves fast. progress is lost when you quit, which is not ideal, but it's all endless/random deals, so just about not a dealbreaker. a 'no more moves' pop-up would be appreciated though, as well as an 'only solvable layouts' toggle and seeds to replay the same ones later. while there are cheaper $/game alternatives, this is still a good collection. however, for this price it needs more quality of life and some customization. a few card backs and fronts, and definitely alternative themes to mix up all the blueness. until then I'd recommend waiting for a sale. way to bad to be played, even for a card game
Ik blijf door alle tijd heen op dezelfde plaats gerangschikt staan, dit kan niet
