Pretty fun rythem game but overpriced but i get it devs need to be supported somehow, 16 songs in total with the option to increase note speed is a nice touch, gives the player a nice challenge. Although the game supports keyboard and mouse its very difficult to hit notes when there are so many especially the circle ones, tried to remap keybindings but i still find it difficult to hit every single note, Its alot easier to play the game with a controller or a vr headset. The game needs more songs update even though Ai-Chan is in sleep mode there are many songs she sang and the devs should add some of them. Moving on to view mode the game nails it with the whole mocap and songs she sang ,with the right combination of song, stage ,and outfit the game really beautify Kizuna Ai and really captures the players interest and makes you fall for her instantly. The game is very addicting and fun, a solid 9/10. it just needs more updates and an option to remap controller keybindings.
This review limits itself to the VR experience of this game. Not really a rhythm game actually, I believe that part should be considered as concert cheering simulation and practice. From my perspective the viewing function matters more, and to see AI-chan dancing in front of eyes is really something. For that, exclusion of 'AIAIAI' makes the value of this dropped fairly significantly, especially considering the high price tag and low discount rates since its release. There are videos to be seen, but these videos are fairly blurry when viewing in VR. In the game there are notes saying two of them have better version on 'video sharing platform' (YouTube)... and it is way better. That means the game itself is not really targeting those who wish to play a proper rhythm game, but the people who really like pre-2022 Kizuna AI. Seeing her 'in person' is truly adorable. I am keeping this game because of this sole reason. Also, the basic gameplay could be tried for free on Quest, but the quality of models there are inferior.
New: Update and my review stays the same, but after getting a steam deck I can easily say this game is the worst rhythm game I played flat don't get me wrong its good in VR but flat its ♥♥♥♥. I would help if they add a calibration option in the game like all the others for example Miku Mega Mix, love Live School Idol Festival, Guitar Hero, and RockBand. What I'm trying to say its playability depends on the TV and or Monitor and with no calibration options there is way around it the latency that may come when using different TV's or Monitors. Over all if you don't have a VR headset their are better options like Miku Mega Mix (it comes with around 250 song plus its moddable), or Love Live School Idol Festival (its on PS4 but it has similar gameplay to this game but does it better) Old: I like how this game has VR as an option TBH I wouldn't recommend this game to someone that doesn't have a VR headset and here's why no calibration settings, this isn't a big issue on PC this is more of a console issue or if you use a TV with your PC but this game reminds me of love live school idol festival for the PS4 in gameplay but that game did it better (it has calibration settings) and the ability to remap the buttons on controller. Love live feels more thought out but this feels lazy and incomplete in flat mode VR mode is just like it was on the Quest platform (that's good) at that point yeah I recommend this game for VR players but for flat players not really not until they can improve it some more
Honestly if your a fan you'll love this! It's not as hardcore as some other rhythm games so your able to enjoy your time. The modeling and animations were great and there's also a view mode that's fantastic for just relaxing and enjoying the music while watching her dance.
I was obsessed with the Oculus version and rebought bc the gameplay looked a lot smoother. So I've spent a lot of money.... which the amount I've played and will play, I see it as worth it. Realistically, I would say wait for a sale bc it is kind of expensive for the amount of content available. I also wish there was mod support or some sort of modding scene bc I actually feel like that would be easy with the way the gameplay is + would give more people a reason to buy.
Ai-chan is so cute I love her .This is the game i play in my life 10/10 for me it 7 year i like her at 29 November 2016 no one can replace kizuna ai Happy 8 years anniversary Ai-chan
DLC a tad overpriced lol but i knew what they were and got em anyway to support the game.... anyways awesome music, cute anime girl with great dance moves, a total of 15 songs, 2 stages and 1 outfit without dlcs or 3 with dlc.. so not a lot in content but gameplay is quite easy but fun... put that ♥♥♥♥ on X4 hard, u might start breaking a sweat... I'm hoping as it might not happen since i believe it could be hard to do but would love to see modding/a level editor to use our own songs, create stages by importing FBX's as that department is lacking which will also work with outfits for Kizuna along with creating choreography with in said editor or by using mmd files that be pretty awesome.. this could be done maybe by implementing a IK rig so people can grab and move arms, legs and head etc... eyes, the mouth/ facial features can be customised using shape key.. would love if all this could be also be done in VR especially the rhythm block placement as that might make it easier to create animations on a timeline along with testing the level without having to keep switching over, i hope they do this as it will add a lot of replay ability and creativity within the community even if they make this a dlc ill buy it or a separate software that links to this ill still buy it lol... game is great if you like rhythm games but ye content isnt alot tbh but games fun despite this
