Kitchen Island VR

I'm recommending this game BUT it does need some work. The controls are janky at best. I found a good movement scheme but then couldn't grab anything with my right hand. Also I found myself getting a bit nauseous and i couldn't put my finger on why which is strange because i very rarely experience motion sickness in VR. The core game play is actually very fun and ive been waiting for a game like this in vr for a long time. Hopefully the devs can smooth out and polish it a bit more and it will be amazing!

Kitchen Island VR is an Early Access Paid VR game about cooking with an Island / boat theme. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok, was understandable. The English voice over were done by AI, so slightly off voice and accent. The VR movement mode is free moving and spot teleport and choice of snap or smooth turning. You have a timer during the mission and have to produce ordered recipes quickly. You can play single player using anon mode. Has a single player and multiplayer mode. Very simple graphics and game play, so might be better for kids. I tried playing tutorial and the first mission using free moving only and felt motion sick within minutes. Warning: Can cause motion sickness. Maybe buy this on sale, if you like cooking games. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. The core gameplay is fun, and I was having a blast right away. I am happy to change this review as dev's have now been engaging with the community on bugs/issues. I am hoping they can solve some of the startup issues as I look forward to playing this game with friends more.

Fun cooking simulation game for a fair price. Has nice graphics and sound effects and the controls work with various VR setups. Fans of the Overcooked series will love the online coop mode!

This game is about cooking, if you love cooking this is your game. Make all kinds of food in time and with the correct ingredients to progress to the next level. The coop mode is even more fun, since you can cook away with a friend. The visuals are good and fit the game nicely. There is even an extra level optimized for PvP for up to 4 players to compete against. I played on Oculus Quest with Oculus Link and it worked perfectly. This little game is actually fun.

Das Spiel ist eines der Besten die ich bis dato für VR gespielt habe. Es sieht nicht nur gut aus, sondern läuft auch ohne Probleme. Man bekommt für sein Geld viel Content, mit viel Spielspaß und einer guten Portion Humor. Unbedingt erwähnen sollte man auch die Online-Koop Funktion. Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

I can really recommend this game as a VR experience. I had a lot of fun during a lot of various levels. Ok, there are still some small bugs, but all in all my money was worth it and had a lot of fun together with my friends. It remembers me about some of my favourite cooking games from old times... but now in VR. Also the graphic style is really lovely.
