Kings of Lorn: The Fall of Ebris
Discovered this gem accidentally - love the dark/gritty atmosphere/lore and the environment - weapons have weight and are impactful - FOV present - highly recommended experience !
After completing one playthrough I would say I'm not disappointed in the game, it was a decently dark medieval journey through a dead universe with somewhat satisfying combat. That being said early game did suffer from a steep learning curve that led with a fairly unforgiving initial boss fight. Along with the early on difficulty a reoccurring crash bug at an early section required me to temporarily lower all visual settings after which the game functioned normally throughout the remaining 5 hours of gameplay on high. Was the game worth $29.99? That's a hard sell for me to argue for, but the game managed to keep me going till the very end and I would suggest this as a nice weekend runner for a bored fps player.
Game over. Dommage.
🎮 Reseña de Kings of Lorn: The Fall of Ebris

This game doesn't deserve bad reviews. I'm honestly more excited for a new kings of lorn than quantum error.
this game is hard but once you get the fighting skill down i honestly think its a breeze, its really just learning your enemies and then knowing when to attack, i played this on ps4 first then on pc, beat it on both platforms. Mortal Shell is easier than this game. its not very forgiving as in you do need to save a lot, which i dont mind, i have raged a few times for sure. i was hoping for more at the end but i love how its left open for a sequel if they ever decide to pick this back up. the weapons i feel like you dont really get the chance to use many of them since you mainly stick to one or 2 but of course you can swap out as you please, i just found myself using the heavy sword and staff a little bit more than other weapons. story is pretty good, i enjoyed it and found myself interested in what happen. gameplay and fighting mechanics aren't horrible but are a little glitchy sometimes, but the devs have improved on that since i first played this when it launched, and i think pc has less issues than console. i feel like you get your money worth with this game, its not a super 12 hour long plus story line but its a solid 6 or 8 hours give or take on how you play or how much time you spend. 7/10 for me.
Kings of Lorn , basically if you ever played From software glorious King's field series or such pearls of the classic dark fantasy games such as Witchaven and Hexen then this game is definitly worth your time ,a Dark Gloomy world with an amazing soundtrack that set the mood in your hellish journey in Ebris , the gameplay is quite technical since it focus on a well placed blow rather than combos, it can be summed as ''One hit One dash'', concentration is heavily required against the ''people'' of ebris, you are not a muscled barbarian attacking foolishly will only give you a foolish death and the game is quite unforgiving on that matter which is not really a bad thing in my opinion the game is quite challenging and i like it that way, it's a bit like a Die and retry , the enemies respawn like in a soul game but only when you load your save ,it may be a bit annoying at first but when you get used to the fighting/dodging mechanics you will have some satisfaction finishing your enemies , the voice acting is surprisingly good and the artistic direction is like the lore.....INCREDIBLY gloomy and bravo to the dev for doing the effort to construct in details the world of ebris , so yeah i recommand the game the only negative things i can add are about the fact that you can't wield both your torch and your one handed weapons which is quite annoying and unconvenient when you are in a game where the darkness is about basically 99% of your gloomy world!!! swapping between your weapon and Torch leave you in a deadly frame that can be fatal , the second negative thing is about the buggy floatting rocks that ruin a bit your immersion and the collision with some kind of invisible stairs that give you the impression to climb in the air for 1.5 seconds , that's it exept those little bugs the game is great and the devs released a massive patch recently that fixed a great majority of the annoying bug and optimisation problems at launch , so give it a shot!!!
Hidden first-person dark fantasy gem. Seems like this one has gone under the radar due to harsh release in 2019, but i had great time playing it. Really impressive for being made by pretty much just one person.
don't
I’m only impressed because it’s a game released by predominantly one person. That being said, this should have stayed in early access because it was a frustrating disappointment, only because it looked so promising. For a game that is a first-person melee fantasy, the combat was paper thin. Floaty, with one, maybe two different swing animations, and blocking is pointless once you realize how broken the dodge is. From then on, combat is trivial. Dodge, slash, dodge, slash, ad nauseum. There’s no shield, no kick, no parry; might as well been a point and click adventure. Throw in some crashes and bugs, and a restart system that occasionally resets progress, and you’re in a world of hurt. However, probably the biggest sin this game commits, is the lighting, or lack thereof. This game was way too dark, and the eye-strain is real. 2/5 kings.
