The game is beautiful, the towns feel lived in and authentic, there is so much thought and care put into every aspect of this game. From the design of the houses, the wardrobe the incredible armor layering system. All of the work to make the world feel so authentic. All of this incredible work almost ruined by the most god awful ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ combat "system' devised by man. All men in Czechoslovakia from the most gormless shirtless illiterate ♥♥♥♥ covered bandit to the fattest lord in Rattay is a marathon running super soldier who can from any angle at any time master stike perfect parry any attack you could ever even think of making. You will be told by the game and also the flouride smiling, blankly staring glazers of this game that you can feint and mislead an opponent, thereby allowing you to smoothly land combos. This is a lie, you will be master struck. You will stand there in the Rattay arena happily using the provided feint mechanics against the fat unemployed master of arms in rattay castle, you will execute the feint exactly the same way one dozen times, it will work twice. You will stay there with the pasta loving, exercise shunning czech until your warfare, strength, and sword levels reach 10. Then you will encounter your first group of bandits. The bandit, upon seeing henry, will promptly sprint pell mell behind him with no concern of self-preservation for the 5 ft long sword in Henry's hand. You, the clever player, will calmly switch targets and load up an attack to stop him, only for him to bug out, teleport back 2 ft, and queue up a nice unblockable master strike parry. That's alright, you're in full plate you stole from the rattay armorsmith, using the super overpowered Luck of the Drunk perk. So you manage to kill the 2 or 3 bandits that actually managed to successfully pathfind the short distance you've had to backpeddle away, and you return to the site of the ambush only for the rest of the bandits to have promptly forgotten what they were doing and wandered off to despawn, denying you, yet again, any hope of revenge. And, if you managed to save before the ambush and want to face them again, eager to satisfy your bloodlust, tough luck, because it was totally random and you will never see them again. But don't worry because soon you'll be right back to where you belong, standing in front of a knight, waiting to press q whenever he lifts his arms, certain that any moment now you'll be landing those combos you keep hearing about. And when you finally start clinch spamming and perfectly timing your attack you'll be relieved to know that the first strike that lands after a successful clinch will be masterstruck parried by a pennyless bandit with a wooden spoon that is actively in a recovery animation that is canceled with his weapon teleporting in front of your eyes to the opposite side of his body. And people will tell you to your face, look you in your eyes and tell you its a skill issue and the combat is actually great. And they will smile their smug little smile as the drool runs down their chins, and the wax builds up in their ears, and the dandruff falls from their scalp. But it isn't its an abhorrent stain on what should be one of the greatest games ever made. an utter betrayal of the amazing hard work put in by every other member of the team, hopefully Bocan's lard filled arteries close up soon, inshallah.

The parry system completely ruins this game for me. It makes every fight drag on for too long. I win most fights, even when I'm outnumbered, so having battles last this long when I already know I'll win gets boring and frustrating. The problem is that enemies who know how to fight can parry attacks from angles they're not even defending, which makes attacking from different directions and using the combo system feel inconsistent. If you try to wait for them to attack first, they take so long to do anything that it could put me to sleep during the fight. And ♥♥♥♥ the camera system too—it's NOT designed for fighting multiple enemies. The story isn't very good either. Most of it is just talking to NPCs, then going from point A to point B, then back to point A again, so there's a LOT of fast traveling. The side quests don't help much either, since many of them are just fetch quests. There are also a lot of systems that exist but feel like a waste of time, such as hunting and potion making. To give the game some credit, the music, the atmosphere, and the recurring characters are all excellent. Those aspects might be enough to make me try the second game. I just hope they made some major improvements to the awful camera and the random-feeling combat system.
amazing game . cant wait to get kcd2 in the next sale . npcs intereaction amazing . gameplay requires skill on part of the player but the quest completion is also 10 times more rewarding. suggestions : for casual players who just want to play and enjoy get mods. otherwise 10/10
Muito bom
