Sells trusting customers a game Abandons it Returns announcing a new game, trust me this time guys
I really enjoy the concept of this game but the buggy mess and lack of quality of life system ruins it. In this game, you play a role as a manager of retail stores and you will learn more when you progress from a employees to a head managers. I need to admit that the first 20 hours are fun to play. However, it comes to an end when you become a company and have 1 to 2 concept and a few store. You feel like you are doing the same thing again when opening new store hiring employees, planning the employees timetable, ordering article. What the hell? I already own over 10 millions of dollars and cannot hire a manager to manage the store. Moreover, the profit of article is quite unbalance. The best profit making article is electronics and I understand that is because the import price is high. However, when I saw the profit in the map, I am shocked. I have sold 3 different article (total 4 category) which is men's wear, woman's wear and electronics. And the profit of the first 2 is less than 100K per store compare to the electronics which earns me half a million a day. Furthermore, there are many buggy things and lack of quality of life. The first bug I realize is the UI sometimes don't show when I wanna sale the customers. It is my first hour of experience and after some time I found out that "oh that is a bug". The NPC pathfind is also problematic. The best counter can hold 7 customers but you shop will eventually getting larger and larger. If the customer is in the corner of your shop and they want to pay the bills, he will occupant the line and the other 6 customers will wait for the first guy to arrive but it will consume their patient so they will rage quit and not buying your article and damage your reputation. When you put all register too close together, the npc will make a longer path to get to the register and they will rage quit during their way. I was annoyed by the grumpy sound. Sometime customer will take the goods and leave but they are not thief so you can't stop them (I cannot figure it out is it a bug or what). Last but not least, It is hard to manage 15+ employees in one store and there is no assistant tool to help. There is no auto refill article and you need to do it manually every day. And there are so much more. I don't know why my campaign save disappear which I spend over 60 hours in that save. Maybe it have something done to the single store mode which I recent started but I am done with this game now. The achievement is also buggy. This is a good game but not the developer. They announced the next sequel. What do you expect if the first game is already this ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Every market we collect.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Can be fun for a while but it's way too unfinished to be abandoned so quickly for a sequel.
I was bummed out at first when I learned that the dev abandoned the game to work on KoR 2. But if I look at it objectively I support the decision, furthermore it was communicated openly, which I respect. About the game, you can easily bury 100+ hours until you realize that it jumped from like 0.18 to 1.0. If you buy it on sales, you will definitely get your money's worth.
Released bugged and than, abandoned. Don't buy
Run away game is buggy and will randomly bankrupt you even while making huge profits daily and development stopped this is a very early access type game with all the bugs not a full release game Dev is a scammer.
King of Retail is an absolute gem for anyone who’s ever been curious about what it takes to run a successful store. I’m thoroughly impressed by the level of detail this game offers, especially when it comes to product placement. It’s not just cosmetic – where you place your items genuinely affects customer behavior, and mastering that system adds a rich layer of strategic depth. What really hooked me is the attention to sales strategy. The game doesn't just throw you into the deep end – it gives you a toolkit full of analytics, trends, and customer feedback to help craft the ideal approach. Whether you're focusing on managing your staff or optimizing your store layout, every decision matters. It's more than just a management sim – it's a love letter to retail done right. For players who enjoy a detailed, hands-on approach to business, King of Retail delivers a highly rewarding experience. I loved every minute of building my brand from the ground up.
This game is janky, the ui is really not great, the music gets super repetitive, the early game campaign mode is grindy and there's still a decent amount of bugs. For some reason, the gameplay was so much fun that I ignored all of the above and enjoyed it.
