KindFolx a fast-paced, challenging experience, where you'll fight to survive relentless enemies, but with your skills, a well crafted deck, a little bit of luck, you WILL become triumphant!... Maybe.

Long ago, in a land unlike the one you know now, a war raged between humankind and monsterfolx. Humans rose victorious, and Ozma, a decorated leader, founded a city where both humans and monsters could live in peace. A city called… KindFolx.
But after his death, a monsterfolk named Darlocke rose to power and became its new leader. Their influence, fueled by human hatred, shackled and oppressed only the wealthiest and influential of humans.
Unwilling to allow history to repeat itself, the adventurers guild assembles, and steps forth to liberate KindFolx from the darkness at its core!
Will you and the Adventurers Guild be able to successfully defeat the evil in the deepest parts of the city?

KindFolx is a delightful surprise in the online deck-building genre. At first glance, its whimsical, storybook style artwork draws you in each card and character brimming with charm, color, and personality. But don’t let the cuteness fool you (I like the cat characters) Fights are creative and surprisingly strategic combat system that rewards careful planning and some luck
KindFolx is such a pleasant surprise. I’ve played a lot of deckbuilders (Slay the Spire, Monster Train, Roguebook, etc.), and this one stands out in the best way. The vibe is super cozy, the art is beautiful, and the gameplay is really smooth and satisfying. The real time card playing is super unique and there's enough depth to keep it interesting without getting overwhelming. It’s easy to pick up, but there’s definitely strategy if you want to dig in. What really sets it apart for me is the tone. It’s just... a joy to look at. It honestly looks like you're playing an episode of adventure time. The music is amazzzzing! If it's available on spotify I'm instantly adding it to my collection. Whether you’re into deckbuilders or just want something new and relaxing with heart, I totally recommend this. Great indie title — hope it gets the attention it deserves
While it takes a bit of time to adjust to the real time card-based combat. There's definitely something special here that sets it apart for the deluge of deckbuilders on the market. Also absolutely love the style and art direction of this game.
Kindfolx is a stylish roguelike deckbuilder with a clever twist — it merges strategic card play with real-time action. Instead of traditional turns, enemies have action bars that fill up over time, meaning your decisions must be quick and well-timed. Cards can gain bonus effects depending on enemy timing, adding another layer of depth. The characters each have unique mechanics (like one using gold instead of action points!), and the dungeons are full of choices, events, and danger. The art is charming, the pacing intense, and the design rewarding. It's a bit difficult at first, especially managing card effects under pressure, but the challenge feels fair and satisfying. Great for fans of Slay the Spire, One Step from Eden, or anyone wanting a fresh card-based experience. ⭐ A refreshing real-time twist on roguelike deckbuilders! Beautifully animated with tense, thoughtful combat and strong replayability. Worth a shot if you like card games that make you think fast. 👍 Recommended for players who love smart systems, roguelike depth, and fast thinking.
I'm sure there's a good game with good gameplay in here, though the balance looks a bit questionable, but overall the UX is so abominably atrocious that it is unbearable to play. Zero fluidity and responsiveness in the controls. Yes sorry, just because a game is turn based doesn't mean it can feel awful to interact with the game elements. The UI is ugly and feels worse than a flash game. The chara design (environments too) is completely aimless aswell, cohesion is important for visuals. Story is just there to be there and doesn't really add anything, it could have been skipped or fleshed out. The raving reviews feel a bit disingenuous after having played, like they are from friends of the studio or something. The game didn't sell ultimately and that's not just because of being unlucky with visibility.
Hybrid real-time/turn-based is a very unusual, interesting concept for a deckbuilder After your first action of a battle the timer for enemy actions is always running, giving the game a kind of Speed Chess feel. But! You can slow down or reset those timers, even perform particularly advantageous moves when the timer is at a certain percentage or when the enemy is just about to strike. For the overall state of the game and balance: I genuinely like it and intend to keep playing, but I also feel there needs to be more polish and more iteration on some things. Alas, without more attention and players there's no feedback and testing. So that's why I hope You, Dear Reader, will give it a try, at least within the refund period -- it's sure to be interesting.
