Kero Kero Cowboy

This is genuinely one of the best 2D Platformers I've played in recent times, and easily one of the best indie "retro-styled" ones. The artstyle is adorably cartoonish, the level design is masterful and I would kill to see this world be expanded upon with future releases. 10/10. I am not kidding. [First playthrough done on a version on a different platform. 100%'d]

No fullscreen option?! What the heck

I'm writing this review after the 100% completion and this is one of the best Game Boy Color games that I've ever played, and well worth the 10 dollars the game is priced at. I pretty much liked everything about it, and while there aren't many options for the game like changing controls for example, it's still a very enjoyable experience. I kinda wish the invincibility frames lasted a tiny bit longer as you sometimes get killed in just a couple of seconds in some situations. I also wish there was a way to change back to original green skin for Kero Kero after getting all Star coins. Aside from that, great game !

I backed this as a kickstarter as I enjoy indie gameboy games and received the Steam edition of the game as part of my backing. This is a very fun platforming/action game that makes me think of things like Kirby with the eating and spitting of enemies, but then there are platforming sections that remind me of things like light kaizo Mario, especially with the boot! This is well worth the time and money if you enjoy classic Gameboy/Gameboy Color style games and you know that going into it. I'd highly recommend it for gamers looking for that type of gameplay. If you're looking for the fanciest graphics, and don't care as much about gameplay, you'll likely want to look elsewhere. Edit: Updating after completing the story and this was a great play. It had a clear ramp in difficulty but was fun throughout. I'll be going back to collect the three coins in each of the earlier worlds as I only did for "world" 5 and got the bonus for that section.

Absolutely worth the wait. This is a gem of a retro platformer adventure. It ticks all the right boxes. Man I love frogs too.

If you told me this was a long lost Game Boy Color, I'd 100% believe you. This game is the the genuinely Game Boy experience in every way! Incredibly fun and well made!

Pretty charming title that wears its inspo proud. My only complaints is that I feel that it does almost too much? Not in the gameplay department but for limitations for the game boy engine since this title seems to have really noticible slow down and dysnc when things get even a lil clusterd.
