Keepsake was a labor of love developed 10 years ago by us as an independent studio. For its anniversary, we thought it would be great to see it live again on steam and gain a new following, as we feel that it is still relevant today.

Отличная игра моего далекого дества. Решила снова пройти её до конца, и я ни разу не пожалела о том, что это сделала. Даже спустя годы, эта игра атмосферная, с прекрасными композициями, головоломками и сюжетом.

the last achievement is broken, but this game is super nostalgic. For how old it is, it's gorgeous. the puzzles are hard in some spots, don't be a baby.
Interesting Fantasy setting with a tragic story. Some of the puzzles in the second half of the game are pretty brutal but between the hints and various walkthroughs, if you get stuck there is plenty of help available. 99% of the game takes place in a single location (Dragonvale Academy) so you'll be running around the same environments quite a bit, but the backgrounds are pretty nice to look at and it really feels like your in a school for Magicians. Also this game does not autosave and has no checkpoints so SAVE OFTEN. If the game crashes you'll lose unsaved progress.
Honestly, I laughed a lot when I noticed right away they changed the annoying voice actor who did Mustavio and Zack. Now it's much better.
Developed and published by Wicked Studios, Keepsake is a traditional point-and-click adventure that captures the spirit of classic puzzle-driven games while telling a heartfelt fantasy story. Originally released in 2006 and later reintroduced to modern audiences through its Steam edition, the game invites players into the mysterious Dragonvale Academy, a prestigious school of magic that has inexplicably fallen silent. You take on the role of Lydia, a young student arriving for her first day, only to discover that every teacher and pupil has vanished without a trace. Joined by Zak, an unusually charming dragon who amusingly fears flying, Lydia begins a journey to uncover the truth behind the academy's disappearance and to find her lifelong friend, Celeste. From the opening moments, the game emphasizes atmosphere, mystery, and emotional storytelling over fast-paced action, creating an experience that feels more like an interactive fairy tale than a conventional adventure. The narrative gradually unfolds through exploration, conversations, and magical visions that reveal fragments of the academy's forgotten past. Rather than relying on dramatic plot twists or constant danger, Keepsake builds suspense by encouraging players to piece together clues hidden throughout the environment. The relationship between Lydia and Celeste serves as the emotional foundation of the story, while themes of friendship, family, sacrifice, and forgiveness give the adventure genuine warmth. As Lydia uncovers long-buried secrets connected to the academy, the fantasy setting becomes increasingly personal, making each revelation feel meaningful. The story progresses at a measured pace, rewarding players who enjoy carefully following every detail instead of rushing toward the conclusion. Gameplay faithfully follows the conventions of classic point-and-click adventures. Exploration, observation, inventory management, and puzzle-solving form the core of the experience, requiring players to pay close attention to their surroundings and think logically about every obstacle. The academy is filled with interconnected rooms, magical devices, hidden passages, and mysterious artifacts that gradually reveal new paths as puzzles are solved. Some challenges are intuitive and satisfying, while others reflect the more demanding design philosophy common to older adventure games, occasionally requiring patience and experimentation. Players accustomed to modern adventure titles with extensive hints and objective markers may find the progression more demanding, but fans of traditional puzzle adventures will likely appreciate the sense of accomplishment that comes from solving problems independently. Although its visuals clearly reflect the technology of its original release, Keepsake remains visually appealing thanks to its artistic direction rather than technical complexity. Dragonvale Academy is filled with enchanting classrooms, grand halls, mystical libraries, and beautifully imagined fantasy environments that successfully create an atmosphere of wonder and isolation. The colorful magical setting contrasts effectively with the unsettling emptiness of the abandoned school, giving every location a quiet sense of mystery. Character models and animations may appear dated by today's standards, but the environmental design continues to convey the world convincingly. Complementing the visuals is a gentle orchestral soundtrack that enhances both the magical setting and the emotional tone of the story. Voice performances generally fit the characters well and help reinforce the game's fairy-tale atmosphere despite showing their age in certain scenes. One of Keepsake's greatest strengths lies in its willingness to embrace a slower, more deliberate style of storytelling. Rather than overwhelming players with action sequences or cinematic spectacle, it focuses on building an immersive world through careful exploration and thoughtful pacing. Every puzzle solved and every clue uncovered contributes to a growing understanding of the academy's history, making the journey feel rewarding for players who enjoy unraveling mysteries at their own pace. The partnership between Lydia and Zak also adds welcome moments of humor and companionship, preventing the game's lonely atmosphere from becoming overly bleak. While some of the more obscure puzzles and slower progression may discourage players seeking immediate gratification, those who appreciate classic adventure design will likely find its old-school approach refreshing. Keepsake stands as a heartfelt fantasy adventure that successfully combines magical world-building, emotionally driven storytelling, and rewarding exploration into a memorable experience. Its presentation may not match the visual fidelity or streamlined mechanics of modern releases, but its charm lies in its sincerity and dedication to traditional adventure game principles. The combination of engaging puzzles, an enchanting setting, memorable characters, and an emotionally satisfying narrative allows the game to remain enjoyable years after its original release. Players looking for an atmospheric mystery filled with classic point-and-click gameplay will discover a rewarding journey that values patience, curiosity, and storytelling above all else. Нежно тронула ностальгические струны души из глубокого беззаботного детства. Помню как читал обзор этой игры в "игромании". Спасибо за теплые трогательные чувства.
