Very useful for recognition practice of kanji, hiragana and katakana.
Weak recommendation but it borders on positive. Being greeted by the Unity logo tends to show amateurish work and it does show in how this program handles. It doesn't work well in full-screen mode, some words are cut off because of mark-up programming, and I still don't know what 'nao-su' is or what the kanji for it represents. It's not so much a game as it is a flash-card training program with a little bit more variation than some bare-bones app. It has two background songs which are nice and you can turn it off if you want so most things are provided and thought about. The training itself is simple, but it works. You can start this game and do some practice while letting something else play in the background.
This game is a wonderful study aid for practicing Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji. While this is not a helpful tool for those starting out with Japanese, as it does not teach you the characters, it is wonderful for people who wish to sharpen their ability to identify and memorize said kana. This application allows you to choose between Hiragana, Katakana, Hiragana & Katakana, and lastly... BUM BUM BUUUMMMM! The bane of all Japanese learners; Kanji I personally do not know enough kanji for this to be helpful, but I will very likely use it eventually. However, for the Hiragana and Katakana, it is simply wonderful, I use this software very frequently to warm me up for the day's study session. I especially enjoy the "Hiragana & Katakana" option because it mixes the two together and it challenges you to both identify the correct kana, and then identify the letter system. I cannot recommend this enough to someone serious about teaching themselves Japanese, or learning Japanese as part of a course. I give this a very solid 10/10!
Requires previous knowledge and understanding of hiragana, katakana and kanji. If you don't already know at least basic Japanese you will just be staring at unfamiliar writing and guessing. There are no tutorials or learning programs. Meant as a way to practice what you already have memorized.
This is a fun game to play, and it makes a good supplement while you are learning Japanese (it really can't hurt). If one is serious about studying Japanese, they should be working on a real course, reading a real book like the Genki series, but this game is a fun thing to play on the side.
É um jogo muito bom para treinar o alfabeto Japonês, vem com hiragana katakana e vem com as cartelas de kanji com seus significados e sons em inglês, espanhol, e francês, podendo ser treinado da mesma forma que os anteriores. Se você esta aprendendo a escrita japonesa ele é uma boa ferramenta de aprendizado e por um bom preço.
like to say be good to ask a native speaker perhaps to look at it seams one kanji is misrepresented 似 I was told meaning is "Resemble" not "Responsibility" as in the kanji 任 next to it, and some i am seeing repeated words it is strange to say the least not saying the Training is bad unless intentional done so and the makers own mistakes are not on accident I seen more than one dictionary and although mostly the same not always similar.
Playing this currently on steam deck runs smooth fun story and helps with learning kanji. no brainer for everyone who wants to learn japanese.
◎ - I would say as I write this, this is the best Japanese teaching tool on Steam, although that is not saying much ○ - There seems to be a nice variety of kanji, although it's hard to say how many are included because it doesn't show you the whole list. - It's good that you can still see the kanji after you answered it so you can keep reviewing it while you are still on the page. × - There is not much gamification features. It gives you a grade for how well you did but it doesn't seem to save it anywhere. There is no tracking for what you need to work on or what is too easy. - I can't customize it to work on my strengths or weaknesses. I can only study whatever random kanji the game gives me. - It doesn't teach you how to write the kanji. An animation gif for each kanji would be very nice. - There are 6 kanji levels but it doesn't tell you what the meanings of levels or how many/what kanji is included - The Steam page says there are only 1,006 which includes hiragana and katakana. Why not include all of the kanji that everyone needs to know? This game seems unfinished.
well, this programe designed poorly ,it's too easy for those who learned japanese for a while and way too confusing for those who hanven't learned any thing about japannese at all.I wonder who are the suitable people for this "game"
