Kanji Industry is a Kanji production automation game. It is great fun to watch the production line move automatically to assemble complex kanji characters! It is also a great way to study kanji characters.
4/10
First of all, no auto save, come on, why did I lose all my progress in 2024. I thought i could be playing Shapez and learning my Kanji but the game doesn't tell me what the kanji means or like how its said in kana. The combinations are also a bit hard to figure out sometimes, I wish there were hints. Overall if you already know Japanese, go for it, it's basically Shapez, if no then it's not worth the time, sorry. This game could have been so cool.
面白い。アーリーで、しかもユーザーに応えて販売開始とは、期待せざるを得ない。 難しい漢字や熟語なんか作れるようになるのではないか、と想像するだけでうきうきしてくる。 ただ操作性は非常に悪かった。 選択したいのに設置しちゃったりしちゃう。 制限時間内に必要な漢字を作る必要があるのだが、まごまごしちゃう。 ブループリントまでいかないが、複数選択してコピーなんかできると、便利だなぁと思った。 期待!
Very interesting game! Makes you think a lot (which I love)
Pros - The idea for this game is neat Cons - There is only 142 kanji. Japanese uses over 2,000 kanji. No one should pay to only learn less than 14% - The kanji starts off with only very simple combinations so it will be slow for those who just want to learn kanji - Has been in early access for a few years but still seems low in content. It's now February 2026 but the last update was in January 2024. - It seems too easy to create a positive net income and let the game sit in the background while you accumulate wealth. Overall: I feel like this game is too slow and lacks the kanji library to be a good learning tool. And as a game it seems too easy and dull to really carry itself. This game is a good start but it's far from being finished and seems more like a concept than a finished product. And judging from the lack of updates, this game is likely dead.
I learnt "coward" (臆) and "muscle" (筋) kanji through this game :)
東京ゲームショウでこのゲームに出会い楽しませていただきました。 工場ゲームらしく既に作成した漢字をさらに素材にしてなど、生産ラインを整えることが楽しかったです。 ワールドモードの収支が気になる方はより複雑な漢字を納品するとええぞ! 下記の様にどんどんインフレしていくので、より複雑な漢字を作った方がお得でした。 漢字1つ使用⇒10 2つ使用⇒50 3つ使用⇒200 4つ使用⇒500 8つ使用⇒50000
It is like Factory, only with Kanji Components instead of gears and raw material. A bit of Kanji knowledge is helpful, but not necessary as it is more of a puzzle game that requires pattern recognition. I think nonetheless it is more targeted towards a Japanese audience, because sadly the learning aspect for non-Japanese people isn't that significant (no meaning nor spelling for Kanji is displayed). It is fun though and very challenging at times.
