非常老式的橫向清版射擊遊戲，當你看到老一代的遊戲時就要有心理準備，通常遊戲難度都偏高......個人玩最簡單模式，一個關卡可能都要重複打個10遍左右！不過遊戲的裝備設計蠻好的，可以自己搭配，而且不用擔心錢的問題，道具都可以原價賣掉，有時會反覆嘗試用不同裝備去挑戰關卡~

This game is tough..so when you start - go with the casual mode..otherwise you will suffer dying a lot..i feel this game is good and having played so many shmups over the years, i think this one is the "wackiest". it feels like tyrian but way way way wackier and with lots and lots and lots of weapons...crazy ones too. Get this on discount and you will have a blast, but the levels feels all too similar and with annoyances in between when you go from ship -> crew mode..and back...your weapons get unequipped and you have to re-equip them back..really annoying but otherwise i think the game is good. JNG2 is much better to me (although shorter). Some levels in JNG Gold are downright annoying and difficult to win that I had to use cheats to skip the level..yeah i'm a cheater...some of those levels are not enjoyable at all. if you have the choice between JNG Gold & JNG2 - go with JNG2 unless you really just want to give JNG gold a try (no harm, i do recommend it for the price if you buy the bundle, but on its own its not worth it). Get it on discount obviously.

I love it. It's a really fun classic space shooter. There are multiple upgradable ships, and you can change and upgrade your weaponry. All of that is unlocked by game progression (and a couple of secrets). The gameplay is quite simple to understand, and the difficulty is interesting. The story is probably the weakest point. To be fair, I think it's kinda dumb. There are some sexual/dirty jokes, and also some "pee/poo" kinda jokes. It's not bad, it makes the whole absurdity of the game itself have some sense, but don't expect more of it. It's... ok. The music is it's strongest point. The whole OST is made by Machinae Supremacy. I have to confess I have a weak spot with that band, but even with that I think everyone agrees that the OST is pretty much immaculate. The game uses a "reset" mechanic, where you get to the last level and then go back to the beggining but with increased difficulty. Because of that I recommend to start in EASY. The difficulty is already there when you "reset". If you want to "punish/challenge" yourself you can start with a higher difficulty, but I don't really recommend it. One warning: If you want to 100%, be prepared for a long grind. Some achievements are REALLY long term. For example, there's one that consists in "reseting" 10 times (beating 10 times all the levels with the same character). The thing is, after the 4th reset, the game is SO easy that it's not a challenge anymore, the fun is already over (and I dont' think that starting on a harder difficulty would extend that since the amount of money is already absurd after the 3rd, maybe for 1 reset, but there are still 5 more). There are some other achievements that could've also been between 20% and 50% of what they ask, the grind is too much. In summary, a really fun game with some grindy achievements. And one of the best OST possible.
