Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl

5/10. This game catches the essence of 8 bit beat em ups like River City Ransom on the NES. However, this game is too stiff. I haven't played RCR for many years, but I don't remember having this kind of problem. You need to wait for an animation to complete in order to do something else. Want to switch from Bob to Jay? Wait until you finish that punch in order to switch. You have to be completely still to switch characters. This game can is best be played using a controller. Okay. No problem. i would suggest to go to the Settings and change the controls mostly using the D-Pad for those that prefer that than using the Left Stick. Enemies will always be in front and behind you, but that is to be suspected from old school beat em ups. Golden Axe is known for that. I made it up to the third level where at some point, you're in a cart dodging obstacles. Switched between characters when possible during that section. There are check points and it gets faster after each one. Overall, get the demo first before buying this game. As it is pretty hard for single player. i don't know about two players.

It's essentially a bad NES beat em' up. Not much else to say. It was included in one of the Humble Bundles which is why I have it. An acceptable price for this would be the developer paying you to play it.

Можно поставить лайк только за Джея и Молчаливого Боба. Игра, можно сказать, слишком - ретро, многие игры 1990 выглядят на голову выше. Хвалить её не за что, а ругать не буду.

Хардкорный битемап, переполненный отсылками к ретро играм и вселенной Джея и Молчаливого Боба. При должной сноровке кайфануть от него можно, особенно если нравится 8-мибитная классика. Тот факт, что проект разработан на сдачу с другой игры про тех же персонажей - лично у меня вызывает уважение. Ну и естественно, как и во все другие битемапы, в Mall Brawl рекомендую играть с друганом.

It's a fun game and even better if you can get the co-op through steam to work. It took us a bit but playing online in co-op mode was fun. Many people said it reminded them of Streets of Rage.
