Classic Game
aged like milk
This game pisses me off everytime i play it. It has such a great opening and such potential. I loved the setting and characters. I liked the different martial arts used and the enemies. What I didn't like was the story. There's a huge twist that I loved but my complaints is about what happens after. Never have I seen such a promising RPG actively downplay or outright ignore it's own storytelling. The game itself treats it as if it wasn't a big deal. After this huge twist the companions sort of dismiss any problems you had and act as if everything is business as usual. The whole thing was just insulting and such a lowpoint of the game. I expected much more payoff from this event and all I got was disappointment.
Played this on the OG xbox, it was great then and it's still a great RPG. Especially if you enjoy the classic Bioware style. The characters are interesting and well written, the story has good twists, and the combat is unique even today. My only negative is that there isn't more of the world.
Truly one of Biowares gems they should have continued to support instead of dropping it at EA's behest. I would give anything to see a sequel to this game and make it a trilogy if possible.
Didn't like it that much when it came out, never completed it. Nor ending a full replay just now, way past its time. Bioware interpreting eastern games, not for me. But maybe you like it better.
It's an old game that has a rustic charm to it. The combat is a bit wonky at first but once you get used to the controls it's not too bad. Once you get past the launching issues, it's a fine and fun game. Solid 7-8/10 at the time of review.
