This game is BAD don't get it, especially not for €12,50. It's like 3 bucks worth at best, but really just don't get it because this game is supposed to have 2 selling points which are both ruined. First is multiplayer. As a mindless multiplayer game you could play with a/some friends, it's dumb fun. Except you can only play local multiplayer. This is made even worse for achievement hunters, because this game does actually have a lot of multiplayer only achievements Secondly is difficulty. You either play on a braindamaged difficulty, or you play on the one that's carried entirely by artificial difficulty where the main factor of clearing things on later levels is dumb luck. * Enemies can randomly spawn on top of you and sucker punch you * The camera angling is really bad and will not give you enough information what's approaching you from the bottom of the screen, which coupled with too dark lighting, will once again be the source of random sucker punches * The weapon balancing is terrible. There's a particular enemy type which spastically blinkstrafes when you're looking towards it, making it nearly impossible to consistently hit it with non spread weapons such as the pistol and rocket launcher (actually impossible to hit it with these), and the machine gun and laser gun (these are weapons with high firing rate so you can spray and pray them somewhat more consistently), making the only viable weapons on high difficulty the energy cannon (super expensive to upgrade and needs to be upgraded before it becomes a spread weapon), and the shotgun. As a result, you will find yourself using the shotgun pretty much the entire time. * You can't really hit enemy at point blank range due to the hitboxes of your shots being slightly offset from the actual player mode, and this game has enemies hugging you the entire time. You have a short sprint available, measured in energy, but it will be put on cooldown until the bar is entirely full again, even if you only did a burst sprint for 10% of the bar's full length. * Elevation makes you a sitting duck. If you need to climb one of the many stairs in this game, you can simply not hit targets descending the stairs * I am also very certain that the aiming is slightly offset of what it should be on a controller stick cause further accuracy issues It's sad too because half of these issues could be fixed super easily (being able to sprint as long as you have charge, changing the camera angling, and the point blank hitboxes), which would at least make the game's technical aspect tolerable, but it really does not have any selling point to it as is. Just skip this thing, there are tons of twin stick shooters out there for better price that give a far better experience
While the ambiance is excellent, you just walk through areas and mow down aliens that constantly respawn. You can buy/upgrade but after every level you lose everything and have to start over with the pistol. Every level has you essentially hit a button, wait for a certain period of time for an elevator to arrive or a train to move away etc while mowing down loads of aliens then you get to progress in the level, over and over. Tons of barricades in the way you must destroy but are huge bullet sponges unless you play on easy.
Played only the campaing on insane but can't recommend for a singleplayer playthrough. If the game permits me to play i should have fun playing it. I finished the campaing without too much difficulty but i had to abuse the pistol mechanic of recoil by shooting while walking backwards but the campaing itself it's about shooting hordes of enemies that doesn't stop spawning close too you including the bosses who are just horde spawners. I like the game graphically(except for the player characters) and how eazy it soo see the important stuff.
This is a game that could have been great. The concept, visuals and even music are all there. But there are problems with this game that kept it from ever becoming big. There is an enemy type that constantly warps out of the way of your bullets, I only ever died to them. They just quickly run up to you and warp side to side as you try to shoot them. There are very few viable guns. Most of the guns can never hit that side warping enemy, so you are limited to the two that can. One of those two has such short range, everything else will get to you. There is a space between your character and the end of the gun, if items you need to shoot are there, you can move around and fix that. But if aliens get in that space, you can't do anything about it and die. These are small annoyances, but they are constant and suck the fun out of the game. Then add in that the games multiplayer is fully broken now. It was made for multiplayer and going solo just isn't worth it. Had fun with this in the past, but I can't really recommend this now.
Spielwertung: 5/10 Spielzeit: ca. 2.8 Stunden Spieldurchläufe: 1 (Ende) Ein Topdown-Shooter ohne Zombies, dafür mit Aliens. Alles in Pixeln.
