This game has the potential to become absolutely amazing! In its current state, however, it is dismal at best. The "casual" mode is its best feature. The interface and play mode is perfect and really feels like you are conducting the orchestra. (I am a conductor myself!) The career mode is complete garbage and unrealistic. It is unnecessarily difficult and inaccurate. If they made the career mode interface the same as the casual mode (or at least made the option to do so) this game would be fantastic! IN career mode there is too much for the player to focus on, having to conduct in certain spots and cue and manage dynamic changes and time signature changes and adding/removing 2 handed conducting is just too much for a person to do and it makes it really un-enjoyable. I hope the creators see this comment and consider making some changes in upcoming updates
I was really really excited about this as well as the other maestro game on the quest. My wife and I love classical music and seeing some videos of folks conducting in VR was super appealing. The problem is with the "sphere" system and having to hit it just right, it's super cumbersome and not at all fun when you're just trying to have some fun. The casual mode is much better, but you only get three pieces and two of them are horribly bad "classic mashups", and it seems you have to complete career mode goals in order to unlock the rest. Look, we're not going to spend hours mastering hitting spheres in space perfectly in order to unlock having fun with the game. Just give me the content, I paid for it? And maybe add more pieces for the "filthy casuals" like me that just want to have some fun. So much potential, but I felt very let down.
I was waiting for a discount on the game, and now during the Rhythm Festival, I decided to give it a try. Honestly, Maestro VR has huge potential, although it still needs some polishing. If you like classical music and have always wanted to know what it feels like to conduct an orchestra, this game is a unique experience that's worth checking out. The first thing that impressed me was how immersive the game is. The 3D sound surrounds you and makes you feel like you're really standing in front of a real orchestra. It’s amazing to see how your movements affect the music you're conducting. Also, the Creative Mode is great for those who want to experiment with MIDI files and create their own music. Even though I'm not an expert, it was a lot of fun to play around with. The progression system is also well done. Unlocking new batons and skills as you improve is a nice touch that keeps you hooked. And even though the Casual Mode is pretty limited, it’s a good way to enjoy the game without too much pressure. But not everything is perfect. The current system that uses spheres and pyramids to guide the movements can be a bit frustrating. Sometimes it feels more like a precision game than conducting an orchestra, which can be a little annoying when you just want to enjoy the music. The good news is that the developers are already working on a new system based on hand gestures that sounds much more intuitive and natural, so there’s hope! Also, the user interface can be a bit tricky to handle, especially when you're in the middle of the game and need to make quick adjustments. But again, it seems like they’re working on an update to improve this, so I’m excited to see how it turns out. Something that’s keeping me really interested in continuing to play is all the stuff the developers have promised. They’re planning some major changes, like improving the control system, redesigning the menu, and even creating a super complete music piece editor. This editor will let you load and create your own compositions, which sounds amazing for those who want to fully customize their experience in the game. Conclusion: Maestro VR is in Early Access, and although it has its flaws, you can tell that the developers are listening to the community and working hard to improve the game. If you like music and are willing to give a game in constant evolution a shot, I think you're going to love it. With the upcoming updates, I’m sure Maestro VR is going to get even better. Can’t wait to see what else they bring!
The casual mode is great and is by far the best mode in the game so far and career mode is the worst, its unnecessarily difficult and nit picky. If you can some how master the career mode conducting in this game you will probably have a good time
Buy it! As a musician and a gamer, this feels like the perfect balance between an educational simulation and an exciting game. I absolutely love it! You'll really feel the rush when you get the whole orchestra playing at a fortissimo under your direction. Can't wait to see how this simulation will progress...patiently awaiting more music by Tchiakovsky and Mahler ☺️
Данная игра явно не стоит 2к! Ей цена меньше тысячи. На трейлере выглядит неплохо а по факту это не так.
It's clearly still got work to do, but it's a great idea and you can have fun conducting your own music. I had some trouble with the UI and the baton system in general. Cueing players and keeping the beat didn't feel very natural even though I have a lot of musical experience. I feel that it could be a more intuitive, but I still recommend it overall. The price needs to drop though. This feels more like a $10-15 experience.
Det er interessant, men for svært at spille. Jeg vil gerne tage udfordringen!
