this game kinda sucks but I'm convinced anyone whose playing it is an achievement hunter just playing for an easy 100%. still 15$ for the worst deckbuilder I've played when i can name at least 5 better options within the same 10-20$ price range gets it a negative score. this game looks and plays like a flash game
Good game
Not a deckbuilder, the tag appllied is really misleading.
This review is specially made for those who like to get all the achievements in games and have this one in their backlog (minor spoilers ahead). Description: Ironclad Tactics is a card battle/puzzle game set in an alternate universe where the American civil war is fought with robots. The graphics are poor and can’t be scaled to 4K in the options menu. The story so far seemed interesting but I haven’t finished the game yet. Achievements: How many: Only 1 Achievement. How much time: Less than 20 minutes (just the achievement). Game difficulty: I haven’t completed the campaign but the first couple card battles/puzzles were easy to figure out. Achievements’ Difficulty: Very Easy. You just need to complete a random task in the deck builder which is unlocked after completing the fist levels. Overall opinion: Compared to the other Zachtronics games, this one seems below average and also worse than other card games like Slay the Spire or Iratus, but it’s a very easy game to get all the achievements, only one task is required and it takes less than 20 minutes. Good game with fun campaign. It's a deck building tactical game and I enjoyed the campaign. Lots of variety to plan and choose your troops. 6/10
I don't feel like writing out a proper review right now, but I will say that it's good. Really good. It's this weird mix of turn based and real time, board and card game thing. It all meshes together perfectly. That being said, I do wish it were a tad less rng based. Whether you win or lose is too often determined by whether or not you get the right cards at the right time. Also this game is not balanced for coop play at all. I played this with a buddy who had no cards and even then the game became a cakewalk. I can only imagine how laughably p*ss easy this would be if he actually had a proper deck. If you like these kinda games, this is more than worth your money.
Bought it on the Mac Game Store - won't run on any Mac running a 64bit-OS, which is ALL Macs younger than +5 yrs... Great, just great. My next computer is NOT going to be a Mac again: Over on the MGS, appr. 75% of my bought games will only run on machines from the age when the world was still black/white - same goes for appr. one third of my Steam-purchases... heck, I could've bought a WIN-machine for that $$$ (admittedly, only a very small one, probably)! So, to all my fellow Apple-users, I cannot recommend. Which probably is a pity!
This is a cool strategy lite game that you can play with a friend. I do wish it had skippable cut scenes though
Dull story, gameplay too easy to stalemate.
