Card drop rate is so poor. Takes ages for all cards to drop so I can delete this awful game.
I really could not get into this at all.
Into the Void is a spacefaring strategy experience that aims to merge exploration, tactical combat, and long-term planning into a single, ambitious framework. Developed and published by Mozg Labs, the game places players in a universe where humanity has already suffered catastrophe, and survival now depends on careful expansion, diplomacy, and military strength. Rather than presenting a tightly scripted narrative, the game emphasizes emergent storytelling shaped by player decisions, procedurally generated star systems, and the evolving relationships between factions encountered throughout the galaxy. From the outset, the game establishes a tone of isolation and uncertainty. You begin with a modest fleet and limited resources, forced to venture into unknown systems in search of materials, allies, and technological progress. Exploration is a constant driving force, with each star system offering potential rewards as well as risks. Randomized encounters, hidden threats, and unpredictable faction behavior ensure that no two campaigns feel exactly the same, encouraging adaptability rather than rigid planning. This sense of discovery is one of the game’s strongest elements, as it consistently reinforces the feeling that the galaxy is vast, hostile, and largely indifferent to your survival. Fleet management and turn-based combat form the mechanical backbone of the experience. Battles require thoughtful preparation, as ship loadouts, subsystem choices, and fleet composition play a decisive role in success. Combat is not purely about raw firepower; positioning, timing, and understanding enemy capabilities are equally important. Over time, players gain access to new technologies that expand tactical options, allowing fleets to specialize in different roles such as defense, mobility, or high-damage offense. This gradual progression creates a satisfying sense of growth, as early struggles give way to more confident and deliberate engagements. Outside of combat, the strategic layer asks players to juggle multiple responsibilities at once. Resource management, research priorities, and diplomatic decisions are tightly interconnected, meaning that neglecting one aspect can quickly undermine the rest of your campaign. Choosing whether to cooperate with neighboring factions or confront them militarily has long-term consequences that can reshape the balance of power in the galaxy. These systems reward foresight and experimentation, but they also contribute to a steep learning curve, especially for newcomers unfamiliar with strategy-heavy space games. The presentation reflects the game’s indie roots, favoring functionality over visual spectacle. Interfaces are dense with information and sometimes feel better suited to experienced players than beginners, with limited guidance on optimal strategies or system interactions. While the visuals and sound design effectively support the game’s atmosphere, they lack the polish and clarity found in larger-budget strategy titles. As a result, early hours can feel overwhelming, and some players may need to rely on trial and error before fully understanding how different mechanics interact. Pacing can also be uneven, particularly during longer campaigns. Progress often involves repeating certain activities, such as gathering resources or engaging similar enemy fleets, which may feel repetitive over extended play sessions. However, for players who enjoy methodical advancement and incremental improvement, this slower rhythm can be part of the appeal. The satisfaction of overcoming early setbacks, optimizing fleet builds, and mastering complex systems tends to outweigh the frustration for those willing to invest the time. Ultimately, Into the Void stands as a testament to indie ambition, offering a deep and multifaceted space strategy experience that prioritizes player agency over accessibility. It may not provide the refinement or visual flair of genre heavyweights, but it compensates with meaningful choices, flexible progression, and a strong sense of scale. Players who appreciate complex systems, emergent narratives, and the challenge of mastering layered mechanics will find a rewarding journey hidden beneath its rougher edges, while those seeking a more guided or polished experience may find it demanding. Tags: Tactical - Sci fi Sandbox Aditional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library (1.2 Gigs) TLDR: Shallow tabletgrade space battles. I have fully fledged 4X games with better tooltips in which I can accomplish grand feats and use creativity. Not so much in this one... 4X battles simulator. Half of the game is for ressource management, building ships, spending research points. Other half is running space battles as part of missions. The user interface, control scheme and level of depth are all very shallow and at the same time, strangely cryptic and hard to decipher. This is truly a marriage of the worst of two things. Taking a glance at the ship designer and trying to navigate the research menus felt akward. Maybe it would be worth dealing with the shortcomings and the learning curve on mobile where your options are limited and the game does look half decent for what it is with nice ambiant track. However the core gameplay itself is not satisfying. Removed for declutter
to be fair, people are seriously panning this game because it is just Indie. Well im gonna put my take on this. Yes the game can be improved but so far i am enjoying this game pretty well.
Le jeu est bien visuellement et graphiquement. Petit bémol on est lâché comme ça sans aucun tutoriel, il faut cliquer sur chaque icône pour avoir un aperçu de ce que l'on peut faire mais sans nous préparer à quoi que se soit.
