About
Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days is a side-scrolling shelter survival game that tasks you with guiding a desperate group of zombie apocalypse survivors to safety. Craft weapons, scavenge resources, balance your group’s needs, and try to get everyone out of danger alive.
Texas, 1980. Walton City is a sprawling, coastal metropolis in the grip of a scorching heatwave and crippling economic crisis. Everything changes when an unstoppable zombie outbreak reaches US shores. Walton City is soon overrun by hordes of the undead, the few remaining survivors cut off from any chance of outside help. Forced to band together, these everyday people must chase their only chance of survival by escaping the city.

Gather a group of ordinary people who have been left shaken by the sudden zombie outbreak that has devastated their city.
Establish upgradable shelters to house your survivors and protect them from the zombie threat — but remember that no barriers can keep them out forever.
Keep moving from refuge to refuge to stay one step ahead of the encroaching zombie hordes. Every night, your barricades will be under their relentless attack. And if they break through, your survivors will pay the price.
Balance the physical needs of the group, like Hunger or Exhaustion, as well as psychological needs like Despair. Heal survivors from injuries like Broken Ribs and try to manage traumas like Nightmares.

Creep through the remains of Walton City to scavenge precious resources, risking the life of each survivor as they encounter both zombie and human threats. Stealth is key to survival.
Choose whether to run from a fight or engage in brutal combat with whatever weapons you can find or craft. Not everyone is a natural fighter, but desperate people will do anything to survive.
Convince others to join your group or cut them down and claim their resources as your own.

Test your humanity as you make tough decisions on who will live, who will die, and who will be left behind.
Inhabit the rich and atmospheric cityscape of Walton City, the once-bustling metropolis now an eerie ruin swarming with zombies.
Craft tools, weapons, and shelter upgrades to better equip your survivors for the struggles ahead, or give them a moment of comfort and familiarity in their dangerous new world.
Encounter a varying world which makes sure that every playthrough is a new experience.

Reviews
Maybe it gets better? No real story, pretty clumsy fighting, very repetitive so far. I think it has potential, but I wouldn't pay for it just yet.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The most bad*ss of combinations is in this game, it intertwines This War of Mine and ZOMBIES. This War of Mine is arguably my favorite side scroller game, what a deeply bleak yet terrific game. And Zombies, what else can I add to that genre of gaming? Telltale's the Walking Dead, World War Z, Left For dead 1 & 2, the entire RE franchise and so much more is peak horror. With all of this in mind, Into our Dead: Our Darkest Days is a brilliant addition to that roster of peak. I won't rant too long on the pros of this game since that could be an entire College thesis paper, but I love how bleak it is with its delivery. It challenges you thoroughly not just on surviving, but surviving with empathy and morality in mind. I got a somewhat bad ending for my first run and what's crazy is that I'm not mad about it. In fact, it adds to the major grey area of this game. For me, it was way easier to get the bad ending rather than going out of my way to be good and get a "good" ending. Even when officially getting some of the good endings, you will still probably commit awful things in order to desperately cling onto that pipedream. You most likely will have to murder other survivors and steal important equipment in order to access that goodness. What an insane game just on that alone, but the gameplay is just as good as the moral quandaries. I want the gameplay to be mostly hidden to anyone that reads this, because I went in blind and completely fell in love with it. Just know it's very similar to This War of Mine and the concepts of maintaining bases and planning loot missions. The zombies added into that melting pot is one of the most eerie and uncomfortable experiences of my gaming life, every looting trip felt like I was just inches away from defeat and a nasty bite. One minor mistake while stealthing or rummaging through the loot can send you directly to a permanent zombie coma. Yeah this game rocks, I am utterly shocked this is an early access. Any other early access game atm would dream of having mechanics and gameplay like this, pls give it a chance you won't regret it, especially if you love ZOMBIES.
太简陋了
好玩
Fantastic game for people who love making dire decisions that alter their games future. The looting is satisfying as well with the thought of the more you stick your neck out for supplies the more likely you wont be making it back with it. Definitely one of my favorite single-player zombie games, Cant wait for future updates.
Это было продано после первого трейлера, даж в недоделанном состоянии очень круто и атмосферно
Looooove the 80s art design and the atmosphere created overall. Characters are diverse and they all have their own stories, so i like changing up the duos you start with since it does make the game different. It is still in early access and I have been enjoying the game with each new update. Seems the developer actually listens to feedback. So yeah, I reallly reccomend this game and cannot wait for the full game release!
