I fell into this delightful puzzle game and didn't escape until I'd completed all the puzzles... and had a hankering to make some art from the tiles too! (Also I'm a maths lecturer and think everyone should learn about Einstein Tiles because they're cool and very fun to play about with)
At a first glance this might look like a simple jigsaw-style puzzle game; in reality it’s a gamification of an aperiodic tiling geometric concept using a single-shaped tile (so-called “einstein” tile). There are a total 28 levels and the goal to complete them is to cover planar shapes with tiles of “hat” shape; and while the early levels are almost trivial, the latter ones (and the larger ones) can become quite mind-bending for casual puzzlers. As a game it feels a bit underwhelming though: graphics are very plain, tiles are white by default and although you can color them differently, it feels like a MS Paint; music is also somewhat bland and feels generic. But it’s still fun to play, there is an editor where you can create your own puzzles, and a link to the dissertation thesis about the aperiodic tiling concept, showing that even in these days significant discoveries can still be made in areas like planar geometry.

Einstein truly was a genius when you see how these can link together, creating simple but complicated puzzles. 28 puzzles are included with this game and the last one is a real doozy! It took me around 2 hours to finish it! Watch how you place your tiles or you'll be in a real conundrum! Excellent game and worth your time! Works perfectly in Manjaro Linux.
