simple but great puzzle game: all you have to do is to move the squares one step to get a line of 3 (or - which is far better - of 4) of same image\colour. then game becomes more difficult as you have a squares that are empty, that you cannot operate with and that are making more difficult to predict the moves of the rest.
The game's visual design resembles tasteless amateur web-sites from mid 90's, fonts & menus could be placeholders from early developement stage, art's janky, the icons seem to be taken from different sources or made by random people - they don't fit together. Actually that alone is enough for me to not recommend. Not gonna waste time for actual gameplay assessment, sorry. Btw, it utilizes Unreal engine.
Probably the worst Match-3 game I've ever played, and I have played a lot!
A grotesque dark-themed match-three game...with jazz music. A Review by The Casually Addicted Gamer
Gameplay
After selecting a level from a very unordered menu, you'll get thrown into a match-three game without any instructions. Obviously, you got to drag tiles into rows of at least three. There are no special tiles, but based on the positions of matched tiles and their number, you can eliminate one or two rows at once. Once a level is finished, a big button with laudatory words (depending on how many points you got) appears in the middle of the screen. You have to click it in order to proceed to the next level. At least that is what hopefully happens, but there is no way to verify this. The level also could just have restarted.
Controls
Nothing besides the mouse is needed, you'll use it to drag tiles from one row to another and to navigate through the menu.
Atmosphere and Appearance
Since the game image shown when downloading Inferno Puzzle has a white stripe right in the game logo, there is no exit button in fullscreen mode, some tiles lost their aspect ratio by improper scaling and the game's icon is the default unreal engine icon, it appears to be made by a single person without much effort. Inferno Puzzle tries visually to create a very dark atmosphere, while the music tells something different.
Conclusion
Even though Inferno Puzzle does only cost $0.99, it is too minimalistic and unpolished in order to be worth the money.
Inferno Puzzle is an ugly match 3 game. I'd like it far more if I enjoyed what I was looking at. The icons look like they're different art styles taken from different sources, the buttons have no images on them so they're just the default button. The meters on the side look out of place. For those unaware, match 3 games involve sliding tiles to match 3 or more colors in a row. Once those are matched, they disappear and the higher tiles fall down because that's how gravity works. Getting four in a row results in the entire line being cleared, which I do enjoy. Its an enjoyable genre that I can get lost in. There are plenty of games out there that do it better and look like a cohesive product rather than a mishmash of backgrounds, tiles and buttons blended together. The thing that keeps my interest with Inferno Puzzle is there's a goal, you have 10 moves to get some sort of score. Its never explained so I just assume that's what it is. Its good to have an objective and to diversify these puzzles. When one ends, a new one begins. When you start the game, you select from an array of 21 buttons strewn about on the title screen. These are the 21 different puzzles. The higher the puzzle, the more hollow tiles there are. These hollow tiles cannot be used and tiles will fall through them as if they were ghosts. When you score high enough, you move onto the next puzzle. Other issues I have with the game is there's no full screen, but there's barely a title screen. The game should use the inferno / Hades theme more. Work fire into the game, tiles should burn up as they dissipate. The Unreal engine logo is still on the menu bar. Everything about Inferno Puzzle says its low effort. With that said, its a tough price to beat and the game is competent. You can always get a refund. A big shout out to Lawman who bestowed this game upon me. Now that's the magic of friendship when you can send your friend a game like this and still remain friends.
就TM是一大坨屎 一个发布了大量骗钱游戏的垃圾 愿这种开发者立刻带着家人一起自爆吧
So on to game #3 Inferno Puzzle. I've never played match 3 games so I really don't have anything to compare to. Other reviews seem to say it's garbage. I guess, yeah if you have to compare to other match 3 games, this isn't great. It works as advertised. Match 3 pictures and score points. It does it. The graphics are crap though as this is probably just straight up assets. Without any achievements or trading cards there really is no point to it. I guess if you have a young kid and it's Halloween maybe? That being said this is the best of the three games I've played by this dev (other two being Tales of Destruction and Finnish Roller). But it still doesn't earn my recommendation. This is basically on par with free Flash games from maybe the year 2000. Avoid this as yes, looking around Steam there are way better match 3 games out there.
