After beating the game, I must say that I strongly disagree with the majority of the negative reviews here. For a small indie team, Industria is a pretty solid product. Good narrative, interesting story, very appealing aesthetics and visuals, and interesting universe as a whole. Of course, the game has flaws, but it’s nothing too immersion-breaking. I can remember them from memory. Some very cheap-looking grass/leaves/tree textures here and there, not even visible unless you really come close, a little annoying invisible walls here and there, but this was made in UE4, so no wonder. Said walls sometimes disappear, allowing you to go into the backrooms. If you don’t walk into every corner as I do, you won’t even notice. Can’t say I was a fan of how the weapons behave here, but again, EU4. I’m surprised they even managed to get RTX stuff running on it, honestly. Speaking of which, I think the graphics are good as they are. I didn’t notice any stuttering or anything. The RTX stuff was clearly made and optimized for Nvidia only. I assume the developers couldn't even test on an AMD card. The ambience occlusion with RTX works fine, but the reflections and shadows are barely functional. I’m writing this for the eye-candy fans out there because I personally despise RTX, DLSS, and anything related to it. Lol. That aside, I had no problems with graphics at all. It runs smoothly. For the ones who are saying that the game is too short (2 hours in game?) and the enemies are too hard... Really? No, like, seriously? Are y’all trying to speedrun a narrative indie game? No, the enemies aren’t hard. You take the gun, aim, shoot, and most enemies die from 6 bullets or so. I’m not sure the enemies have weak spots at all. I mean, they are robots. It’s hard to see what is what. As for “the game is too short”, yes and no? It took me 5 hours to finish without rushing and exploring every corner. Average indie game duration. Nothing to complain. I would say this is even long, in a good way. If you speedrun it on your first play and don’t pay attention to anything, how are you going to even find BIRB? So, to finish this review, Industria gets a solid 7.5/10 on my personal score. It was a very nice experience. I hope the sequel is as good as this. Once it’s playable. Also, I'm ignoring the fact that the main character somehow knows how to use 5 different kinds of weapons. It's okay.
Average but at least the story is intriguing.
The game plays like an elaborate, lovingly made prologue — one that builds a fascinating world and mystery, only to end just as it's getting interesting.
