Lots of jankiness, enemies are very bullet spongey, and the boss fights are boring. It's always nice to see a singleplayer VR shooter longer than a couple hours, but this one wears on you quickly.
the game controls could improve, the game was unfinished and it seems that they left the ending open for a future dlc that continues the story or game number 2, even though the controls are not very good since they can be improved,I really enjoyed the game, I recommend it 100%, ignore the bad reviews, they are picky people who only write for the sake of writing, for the price it has and the great experience it gives you, you cannot ask for less, if you have a powerful PC and the PICO 4 headswt you will hallucinate with the graphics,They are impressive.
FINAL (?) UPDATE 29 Oct 2022: - The later part of the game deals a lot with bosses that requires accurate and timely shooting in order to get through. If you've got good reflexes, it shouldn't take more than a few times (hopefully) to get through them. I don't have good reflexes, so it took me a lot longer. - The game consistently has large levels that make you feel so small in some ways. Not every aspect of the level is searchable (you will run into a number of invisible walls), but scale of the areas you are in almost makes it a moot point. - The final boss was such a Quick-Time Event (accurate and timely shooting) where you stood in place. There are pros and cons to that approach, but still remained fun as the boss got closer to you, and you realize you might be as tall as his knee. - The ending was such an opened-ended tease, I considered it to be cruel. You basically end on a cliffhanger of sorts, with no sense of closure. Unfair, I say! Still a wonderful game. It's not perfect, and some of its VR controls feel outdated, but a game that easily stands its ground alongside something like Resident Evil 4 for the Quest 2. UPDATE 16 Oct 2022: - This game largely remains a rocking good time. Going underground shifts it slightly from a Nathan Drake (Undiscovered) to a Laura Croft (Tomb Raider) experience. - In the underground portion I've covered so far, there are a few quick-time-type events when falling down underground caves. There are also some monsters that would give Resident Evil a run for their money. - Item management is occasionally a pain, but nothing so far that would impede your progress. - Grenades, for some reason, are difficult for myself to use (some kind of help page in the Main Menu would readily solve this concern). - My left arm has somehow gotten about a foot shorter than my right arm, and since I fire with my left hand, this sometimes throws off my timing when aiming for a target. - The way this games chooses to do some of its game mechanics, compared to recent contemporary VR games (e.g., Half Life Alyx or Walking Dead S&S) is not a game-breaker, but does take some learning to get used to. As stated before, if you wanted an Indiana Jones/Nathan Drake/Laura Croft adventure in VR, I really think this game will scratch that particular itch. ============================================================ An Undiscovered Gem (with flaws) That I'm Sorry I Didn't See Sooner Played on a i7-8700, 16GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti with a Valve Index (90Hz refresh). Observations are as follows (played up to a part to where I'm first firing a big gun at some tentacled creature): - Here is your Indiana Jones/Laura Croft/Nathan Drake adventure in terms of scope, if not VR mechanics. While you will be primarily shooting/throwing/walking your way through the game, it projects a believable enough atmosphere and presence to make myself believe I am on a grand adventure. - The graphics are serviceable for VR (at least for my ancient rig). Some of the mountainous terrain and ancient sites can come across as slightly muddied, and there are instances where you start to think you see the same set of textures. Yet the cinematic grandeur of what is being presented here in VR almost crushes any such complaints. For whatever island I am on, I feel like I am on a huge island. - There also seems to be multiple pathways you can use to get to certain goals, allowing for some variety in approach, as well as potentially providing some measure of replayability. I haven't played enough to know if the above statements are accurate. - I'm really enjoying the narrative of the game, as it helps to provide motivation to continue other than just shooting your way through, and when I saw the female version of Raiden (Metal Gear Solid), I was drawn that much more into the game. Now for the things I didn't like: - The game could stand to have a Index Controller screen to properly define what button/trigger does what. As an example, I had to go into the Controller Settings in Steam VR to properly figure out how recenter the VR view; this was particularly annoying because until I figured out how to do this, I literally could not start the game. - I don't mind the literally violent shake you need to give your controller to reload the weapon, but being unable to remove the weapon 'ammo remaining' field that is always besides the gun occasionally got into the way of firing the gun. - Despite the numerous invisible walls througout the game, and the inability to jump, there is a lot to see in this game. There is also a lot more I would have liked to have been able to go see. - The iron-sights on the weapons took me some time to get used to; this became most noticeable when trying to shoot mines, and having it take 3 to 4 shots because figuring out how to best use the sights. I did appreciate that if you can pull off a headshot, you can save a bit of ammo. - Climbing was pretty fun, although using the triggers to climb instead of the side grips is a little off-putting. - There seems to be more options available once you are in-game, compared to starting the game/going through the tutorial. - I'm not clear on how to throw grenades far; can only seem to get them to go about 10 feet or so. Despite the complaints above, I am really enjoying this game. I have been drawn into a relic-hunter adventure, to where the joy of discovery is as important as any gunplay. My biggest regret is that I haven't played this sooner.
Peccato. ======================== I tried it intrigued by the trailer and some videos and above all by the affordable price on offer (about € 6). Slow in gameplay and story, clumsy and not at all precise shooting, the position of the virtual hands does not correspond to the real ones, management of objects and inventory completely wrong for a VR game. All of the VR mechanics in this game were a clumsy attempt to take a game from flat to VR. The settings are of high visual impact but the low resolution and the lack of detail frustrate everything. Character models well made and rich in details but too old animations, it seems to see a game from the early 2000s. The idea is good, the introduction to the game is slow but it makes you curious and pushes you to play, unfortunately then the game itself takes care of the desire to pass. Such a pity.
An amazing game that is held back by some of the worst controls I've ever encountered in VR. I understand the negative reviews this game has because the controls really are awful. The most frustrating issue for me is that I can't stretch my arms out all the way to shoot. It basically auto shrinks the length of your arm. That being said, I still enjoy the game a lot and I do recommend it. The graphics and visuals are great and the characters and story are interesting. It's just a shame because this game is a few tweaks away from being one of the best VR titles out there. It would be great if the developers did an overhaul of the control scheme in a future update.
Veramente brutto, tracking mani discutibile.
The game had a very good story and decent game play.
The game is absolutely average. I can deal with that. The controls are REALLY bad. I can not recommend anyone going through this
Dunno why anyone would give a bad review. This is a good game. Graphics are pretty good. Aim is a little off but not that bad. I haven't had any issues aside from being lost as hell in a creepy cave. Really enjoying playing this. Well worth the ~$6 I paid for it. Worth more I'd say.
