The reason I bought the "Battle of Stalingrad", was that it's required for playing the "Flying Circus" modules. So, I was very lucky to pick up the big discount bundle just a few hours before the price went up very dramatically. Bearing in mind that I just wanted to play the WW1 game, here is my review: The "Battle of Stalingrad" is very limited in scope, as you only get to fly a handful of different aircraft. All others can be acquired at around 20 Euros each. These are referred to as "collector's aircraft", but it's basically the all too familiar ploy to make players pay the price of a complete game for just a few very limited DLCs that should have been included in the base game to start with. I simply refuse to do that. However, if they would sell packs of, say 5 aircraft, at that price, I would at least consider it. So pricing is my major gripe. Grifting is never nice. The few aircraft that are available, are however quite nice to fly. Well, except for the He 111, a medium bomber with the survivability of a snow flake in a volcano. Absolutely everything will set it on fire immediately and no matter what you do, you can't avoid being blown out of the sky as soon as enemy fighters arrive on the scene. There are defensive gunners, but they couldn't hit a barn wall from the inside of the barn. Next, this game has so many keyboard commands that it really needs an overlay, like games used to have 30 years ago. Why not let us purchase, or at the very least download, overlays? Now, for the WW1 part of my purchase: This game is really, really hard. Significantly harder than the WW2 game. Indeed, some of the WW1 aircraft are so finnicky to fly, that they drop out of the sky all by themselves, unless they are pampered constantly. Dogfighting with the most unforgiving types, cannot be recommended. Then there are a few, otherwise excellent, aircraft that are almost impossible to use effectively, because their wings and spars are blocking the wiew. This is probably very realistic, but it makes for a very frustrating experience. But there are also several aircraft that are quite agreeable. Only, when you pay this much for about 20 different aircraft, you expect to be able to fly them all. I would say half a dozen are actually useful in a dogfight. Would I recommend the game? Yes, certainly, if you buy it at a hefty discount. It still costs like 1.5 to 2 times the price of most ordinary games, so I don't believe the developers are starving. But at full price (300 Euros)? No, not unless money is no object at all.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

absolutely splendid game indeed
Great air battle simulator.
Awesome in every way!
Tolles Spiel!
One of the best WW2 sims with great VR performance.
Best tank aiming game!
