I'll start off by saying I really like idle games. I've played a decent amount of different ones and they are one of my favorite game genres since I'm at my computer a lot. However, after 100% completing this game I can confidently say that this one really didn't do it for me. After you get all workers, there's nothing left to do but wait for levels. The only idle activity you can do is fishing, all other skills require workers to do it for you in order for it to be idle. This game has ZERO depth to the point I would call it soulless. I feel like this could have been a very good idle game if some more thought was put into it and it had more content. It even says in the game description that this game doesn't offer much depth or replayability. Even with that said, I expected at least for it to have something to keep you coming back to the game every few hours to check in and do upgrades, etc. like with other idle games (even super basic idle games have this), but there's genuinely nothing to do here after the first few hours. It keeps hinting at "more to come" but there doesn't seem to have been any updates for over a year at this point. Overall it was very bland and disappointing.
This game is super cute and a fun idle game, but my main complaint is the lack of upgrades for the smithing and construction. It took ages to get to level 50 on those and after that point there's really not a lot left to do on the game, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. 7/10
( This review was written for version 1.4.1. There is a roadmap with more planned features linked in the discussions forum. ) Too barebones. I like about Idle games that they usually have some kind of upgrade interaction that you have to explore and figure out strategies for (upgrade A is kinda useless but gives a multiplier to upgrade B which you only need later in the game. stuff like that). Idle Fields has none of that. You set up auto levelling for all eight skills then wait to buy uninspired unlocks. No strategy involved anywhere. The game clearly appeals to some players, so go for it if you want a colorful screensaver where you can watch numbers slowly go up. It's just not entertaining for me (still going to finish the achievement hunt, though, as you basically just have to wait a few dozen hours to get them all).
Changed my life.
Simple game. Not much to it. Very limited Idleness.
Cute, but not my cup of tea. Too much mouse input required. I struggled a lot with controlling my character, and there is zero gamepad support (for my DualSense at least) so that's additionally frustrating.

This is RuneScape/Melvor Idle with 2D graphics and ZERO combat (which can be a relief as almost every idle game with the exception of Cell to Singularity is either some number tycoon variant or idle combat). You run around as a cute little Fungi who farms, gathers chicken eggs, wool, and goat milk, goes fishing, cooks, and does a little mining/smithing to make better tools. You also have woodcutting and construction which you use to make new and better stuff for your barn from windows to tables and shelves and maybe a bed. it's a relaxing idle game that is fun in both short or longer bursts that makes a fun way to unwind. but don't worry about progress because once you sell some stuff and get a little cash going, you can hire helpers to help you collect, mine, cut wood, fish, cook, what have you. You can then buy hats for your workers which are (as far as I can tell) cute little burnt sienna colored dinosaurs, or possibly salamanders. They are on two legs so hard to be sure what the real inspiration was here, but I am banking on a super cute cartoon version of T. Rex. The game as of 06/13/2025 has two game modes: Standard and Skill Locked. Standard all skills are open and you can do any of them you wish right away and has a very short little tutorial to play through (though most people will not need it, it is very intuitive game play). Skill Locked mode you pick one skill, then have to do that skill to get items to sell to unlock the next skill and is designed for people already familiar with the game. It is not as deep a crafting system like Melvor Idle is, but at least you actually get a character to move around and plus it is intended to be relaxing rather than grinding skills to meet a dungeon challenge. If you enjoy idle games and go in expecting just a cute, relaxing idle game with no stress or challenges beyond eventually getting better crops, more animals, better recipes and tools and watching your farm grow as a result, then you will enjoy it. if you require combat and a challenge to keep you invested, then you may want to look elsewhere but honestly even for those who enjoy a more combat oriented game, having one to relax to on occasion can be a nice change of pace so really, worth trying out either way.
Really relaxing and enjoyable game.
