8.8 dead aliens pretending to be lesbians / 10 Great concept and dev humor. Humor is a solid 10/10. I loved all the small, well-crafted details in the game – the radio, the laptop BIOS, and so on. Had some good laughs and really enjoyed the US Midwest atmosphere. The story hooked me hard at first, but towards the end it kind of loses its sense and appeal. The technical side is a bit rough, but I understand that’s down to the team’s budget for hiring specialists to work with the engine. It would be great to have an option to turn shadows off in the graphics settings. My old PC was barely hanging on to keep a playable FPS even on low. The AI logic is pretty terrible: they ram your car and don’t even notice you’re blasting them with a shotgun. I know it’s an indie project, so I’m willing to look past all that. Looking forward to a sequel or some interesting follow-up/spiritual successor. Thanks for helping grow the Ukrainian games industry.

[Gameplay Video on my Youtube @JockBravo : "I Became an Alien Detective - I Want to Believe"] This is one of those games made by a small developer that you log a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of hours on by doing stupid stuff to intentionally break the game after your first run. The map is fairly big, and it's set in a small rural town. You navigate to different points on the map in an old beat-up pickup truck that can barely fit anything in its bed, but you still try to cram as much ♥♥♥♥ in the back as possible. The main goal is to interview the townspeople and see if they’ve seen anything strange. You photograph them and any evidence that you can come across with your alien scanner and pin it to a pushboard back at base, you cross-reference any evidence on your computer, and the pushboard turns into Pepe Silvia-level schizophrenia. You find different masks around the map and use them to attend an anonymoose group meetings where you get additional clues. When you figure out who’s an alien, you can either shoot them with a spas shotgun that you bought from the grocery store or run them over with your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ truck, then clean up the area and drag the body away before anyone notices. It’s part detective work, part assassinations and cover-ups with Gmod physics. The soundtracks (AI-created) are hilarious and make the whole thing even funnier and fit in with the backwoods atmosphere. The alien impostors, evidence, and house locations that the townspeople live in seem randomized, so every run felt different. It’s rough in spots, oversized items fly out of your truck, people in cars are invincible, and honestly, the price feels a bit high for what’s here now, but I still had a great time and got my money's worth. If the dev adds more to the game; weapons, ways to stop cars, or tools to break into houses, this could turn into a HIGHLY replayed game.

Pretty short and a bit janky in places, but overall it was a fun game. My only real gripe is that I wish it let you figure out who the aliens were yourself instead of just telling you once you gathered enough evidence.

Гра класна. Я спочатку, коли тільки запустив перший раз і пограв годинку, був трохи розчарований, бо попередня гра Timeloop виглядала графічно краще. Та й там була катсцена на початку гри велика. Тому I want to Believe здалась кроком назад. Але геймплей далі затягнув. Кататись селищем під музику кантрі і заспокійливий голос Рендароса було дуже приємно. Такий собі міні GTA. Чи радше міні LA: Noire. Розвозити посилки (привіт Death Stranding-у), фотографувати людей і "дивні" речі, збирати розповіді про "незвичайне" і відмічати то все на дошці було захопливо. А як же я запанікував, коли застрелив першого косміта, треба було позбутись тіла, витерти кров, а виявилось що двох бочок, які я привіз не достатньо, і губки в мене теж немає, а очі вже починають злипатись. Почувався справжнім злочинцем в цей момент. Порадували плакати зі знайомими обличчями і відсилка на НовуПошту в грі. Ну і знайомі голоси (про Ренадроса я вже писав вище). Гра дає купу емоцій, тому рекомендую.

Meh. Seems great on paper and had lots of potential to be "The X-Files" inspired game, but the actual gameplay is kind of boring (sorry to use that word). Not much alien things happening, in fact none at all, and there's nothing really to do around town it's pretty dead. It also glitches and it's apparent the devs totally bailed on this project. Good thing I bought it at a good discount because it's definitely not worth the current price.

I wanted to believe this game would be good or at least amusing. And it almost was. For like two hours. But then the tedium sets in as you realize there's really not much to this game besides driving around and taking pictures of stuff while listening to the absolutely deranged AI slop on the radio. It's also pretty janky, runs real choppy, and constantly feels like it's about to crash--though it never did. Which is nice.

Original, tranquilo y la ambientación muy buena, parte gracias a la música. Dan ganas de viajar por Estados Unidos en coche.
