I Am The Prosecutor: No Evidence? No Problem!

I finished this "game" (good ending) in 19 minutes... You barely get to know anything about the characters, most of the winning arguments are very obvious, and the game is just too short to really care about any of the characters or anything that's going on in the courtroom. I thought the art was okay (I like the art style), but that's really the only positive thing I can say about this game.

[b]私は検察官！[/b]――証拠がない？ [h1][b]問題ありません！[/b][/h1] いや、あるやろて。 [b]弁護士が主人公の某ゲーム[/b]は超有名だし 他にも弁護士を題材にしたゲームはあれど [b]検察官――検事をメインにしたゲーム[/b]は わりと数が少ないのではなかろうか。 （そりゃあ逆転検事とかあるけども、 あれは逆転裁判のスピンオフだし……） 主人公は検察官のオーウェン。 （法律面に詳しくはないですが、検察官でいいよね？ 　恐らく検事か副検事？フリーランスの検事っているの？ 　海外だと日本といろいろ違ってくるのだろうか） [b]幼いころに虐待を受けてたというソフィー[/b]を手助けし [b]母親を有罪にする[/b]のがゲームの目的となる。 ゲームのシステムについては、 [b]選択肢が少しだけあるノベルゲーム形式[/b]で、 普通に読み進めれば[b]10～20分とかなり短い[/b]。 逆転裁判のように捜査したり証拠を突きつけたり―― というパートを期待していると[b]肩透かしを食う[/b]ので注意。 [b]選択肢に時間制限がある[/b]ものの、 英語が読めれば、[b]難易度はそう高くない[/b]。 選択肢によってはオーウェンが無謀なことをして 相手方の弁護士や裁判長に呆れられてしまう。 そんなドタバタを楽しむのも悪くない。 [b]頬を膨らませた裁判長さんがとても可愛い。[/b]。 [b]セール時には200円程度までお安くなったりする[/b]ので これといって損という感覚はありません。 スクリーンショットにいる弁護士（緑髪のお姉さん）は [b]下着を付けていないだけでちゃんと履いてます[/b]。 [b]裁判長さんがやっぱり可愛いのでオススメ[/b]。

This looks to be a new engine for the author, and for a game under 400mb in size, it's not the cleanest. Expect assets to take a second to load in. Skipping also behaves in a volatile way, and in a way that I hope won't occur often in future work. All of that is mostly secondary to the narrative, which is... fine. This game isn't quite as memorable and great yet as cathartic as SIGYAAD's previous ren'py touhou works (ironic as it might be to call something so bite sized cathartic), but it's really what it says on the tin. You already know if this game's narrative appeals to you, but for the record, it doesn't take a lot of legal knowledge to poke holes into the proceedings. Again, secondary to the narrative, which is fine. I only wish that the author would loosen their grip a little bit on the tone, and allow some of the less 'funny' bits stick around more. The tone can be pretty whiplash inducing if you're not prepared.

The artstyle is cute and I like the concept of the timed choices, but not only is the game far too short to be able to get attached or feel anything for the characters the game is also far too immaturely written in my opinion for the subject matter it's trying to handle. The game focuses moreso on memes and jokes, to the detriment of the other parts of the game. It also doesn't help that all the answers are incredibly obvious even if you're barely paying attention. Cool concept, however and it's a rather cheap game if you're okay with getting ~11 minutes worth of gameplay

外部のバンドルに入っていて手に入れたまま放置していましたが、日本語対応してくれたのでプレイできるようになりました。日本語翻訳の精度は良い方です。告発されている事件内容は暗い設定なのに検事や弁護士や判事は若い女の子（中年女のはずの被告も見た目は若いｗ）という変な世界観ですが、サクサク進められて結構面白い感じです。 画面下部にセーブなどのコマンドが並んでいますが、そのうちの menu をマウスで選択するとゲームがエラーになります。バグでしょうか？

So while by all metrics you could call this game an extremely short interactive Visual Novel, people unfamiliar with the with the jokey/meme-y nature of a certain subsection of "doujin comics/games" might be thrown off by this even if they like VNs. To put it bluntly, it is fanfiction, with a Japanese twist, but it is ever so slightly highbrow as it is usually only distributed by being sold in physical form at comic conventions and floating around niche corners of the web like otaku forums and image boards. The line of "fan" fiction gets a little blurred too, as you have some "legit" Japanese developers make April Fools or similar joke works of their own IPs in the doujin work style. The two April Fools games for The House in Fata Morgana come to mind to serve as an example. This developer's past games as well as this one land very much in the territory of jokey/meme-y doujin VNs. It was that much more blatant when it was Touhou characters, but since this is so blatantly an Ace Attorney parody with lots of in-jokes/references to those games, with a handful serving of Western memes, I would still call it a doujin work. This VN much like the previous ones from Sigyaad Team does have something sweet and wholesome buried under swathes of memes and references. Considering this one has more interactivity it is a better example for someone to experience the genre of doujin VNs, but you're not escaping the fact it is fanfiction level writing built on the extremely low barrier of entry Visual Novel making kit called Ren'Py. Recommended for what it is, but do have your expectations in check if you haven't tried something out of this genre before.
